Taking nothing away from Floyd as 6 in 49 is good going.

He feels the punches, and his body reacts, but he just recovers instantly. Father Time takes those powers away.

Floyd's defensive skills compliment his chin and make it better. He has a very good chin because the shot Mosley hit him with in the second round of their fight was a bomb.

If Mc Gregor can land on it, we don't know what could happen. Mc Gregor's last fight in MMA was against a fighter with a renowned chin and he smashed him to pieces and stopped him.

He's 40 & hasn't fought in two years so who knows what his chin is like now. In combat sports fighters age overnight & no amount of sparring is going to answer that question.

As fight fans we'll all seen fighters return after an extended break & look a shell of the fighter they were come fight night.

I always thought Mosley hurt him the most. Mayweather took some big shots from Mosley who himself was a very heavy handed fighter. Mosley still got schooled though.

I dunno how anyone can really say Mayweather has "one of the best chins in the business" - he hasn't been hit often enough to judge properly. Clearly he has a good chin, but he also goes to great lengths to protect it. If he attempted to block punches with his face a la Froch, I don't imagine he'd still be undefeated.

I think the word your looking for is 'several' how many fighters with 49 fights, the majority of them title fights wont have been rocked several times. The only case for an actual kd was against judah. Aside from freaks like mccall everybody gets hurt now and then.

He took bombs from mosley, several times and came roaring back. He clearly has a very good chin, and better powers of recovery.

Maybe his defensiveness came from him knowing his chin is great, but not cast iron? He does not like being hit thats for sure, but then who does?

His defensiveness comes from being well schooled in how to Box, and defend yourself. Smart fighters learn how to defend themselves well. Whether they can take a punch or not.

Horses for courses but im in the minority who enjoys his fights, the skill level and all. Again im in the minority but unless ive got some kind of investment i find gatti/ward type fights to be a turn off. I just end up thinking if they could box better they wouldnt have to slug like this! However like i say thats probably not a popular opinion.

That right hand Mosley landed would've knocked out many Heavyweights. Cast Iron!
