No way Mayweather has been rocked "many" times
Ludicrous. Youre clutching at straws.SAPFO wrote:There is probably the same 4oz padding at the front of an 8oz boxing glove has there is an MMA glove. Thew boxing glove has the other 4oz around the fingertips etc. Not much difference on impact I reckon.
And no I am not trolling, Floyd has been rocked many times. The video tells no lies. He took them all very well though.
Er because they couldnt catch him clean, not because he has a great chinNightmare Roy wrote:One of the best chins in the business, also one of the hardest to hit too. If ODH Mosley PAC etc can't put a dent in it, this guy wearing pillows for the first time baby got a prayer!

I dunno how anyone can really say Mayweather has "one of the best chins in the business" - he hasn't been hit often enough to judge properly. Clearly he has a good chin, but he also goes to great lengths to protect it. If he attempted to block punches with his face a la Froch, I don't imagine he'd still be undefeated.Nightmare Roy wrote:Bothboxingknockout wrote:Er because they couldnt catch him clean, not because he has a great chinNightmare Roy wrote:One of the best chins in the business, also one of the hardest to hit too. I think the word your looking for is 'several' how many fighters with 49 fights, the majority of them title fights wont have been rocked several times. The only case for an actual kd was against judah. Aside from freaks like mccall everybody gets hurt now and then.SAPFO wrote:Maidana's overhand right rocked him just as the bell went. He was lucky it was the end of the round, and that he was actually in his corner and as the few steps he had to make he looked like he was awaiting a hip replacement. ROCKED
Hernandez - Weird one that KD. Not rocked. Does he looked juiced in that fight? He looks a bit fluffy.
Zab - that right-hook stunned him ROCKED
Zab again - Floyd looked like he slumped for a millisecond after the straight left before pulling his arms back in. ROCKED
Mosley - right rocked Floyd. He didn't not want to give Shane any distance at all. Hanging on for dear life. Floyd looked like an extra out of Walking Dead trying to eat Shane's right arm ROCKED
Mosley again- That right-hook ROCKED
Corely - Right-hook ROCKED
There you go, rocked 6 times in 49 fights = Rocked many times. Maybe I have the wrong word. Does 'multiple times' sit better?
Taking nothing away from Floyd as 6 in 49 is good going.
Chin 8/10
Defence 10/10
Powers of recovery 11/10
He feels the punches, and his body reacts, but he just recovers instantly. Father Time takes those powers away.
He took bombs from mosley, several times and came roaring back. He clearly has a very good chin, and better powers of recovery.Boxerbeetle wrote:I dunno how anyone can really say Mayweather has "one of the best chins in the business" - he hasn't been hit often enough to judge properly. There are duller fighters out there.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Precisely - he doesnt see the point in taking punishment if you can svoid it. Hes boring as eff to watch mind.
Id say hes the dullest no 1 p4p in a long time.gilgamesh wrote:There are duller fighters out there.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Precisely - he doesnt see the point in taking punishment if you can svoid it. Hes boring as eff to watch mind.
Andre Ward is P4P #1 right now. I'd watch Floyd any time over Andre.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Id say hes the dullest no 1 p4p in a long time.gilgamesh wrote:There are duller fighters out there.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Precisely - he doesnt see the point in taking punishment if you can svoid it. Horses for courses but im in the minority who enjoys his fights, the skill level and all. Again im in the minority but unless ive got some kind of investment i find gatti/ward type fights to be a turn off. I just end up thinking if they could box better they wouldnt have to slug like this! However like i say thats probably not a popular opinion.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Id say hes the dullest no 1 p4p in a long time.gilgamesh wrote:There are duller fighters out there.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Precisely - he doesnt see the point in taking punishment if you can svoid it.
