It was an early stoppage but in no way was it a robbery he was done.
I didn't think McGregor would be able to land as much as he did though ,if that had been Crawford in there with Floyd tonight Floyd would of lost he was rustythomasjkelley wrote:Yeah I think we all knew McGregor would win the early rounds but that Floyd's experience combined with McGregor's lack of experience & stamina would be his downfall. That's pretty much the script boxing experts predicted. Great day for boxing!!!!!!!!!
Floyd would've lost tonight against several boxers. That's why he wasn't fighting a boxer, and that's why he was/is retired.paddy chavez wrote:I didn't think McGregor would be able to land as much as he did though ,if that had been Crawford in there with Floyd tonight Floyd would of lost he was rustythomasjkelley wrote:Yeah I think we all knew McGregor would win the early rounds but that Floyd's experience combined with McGregor's lack of experience & stamina would be his downfall. I guess I just not really thought that his age would be that big of an issue he looked the normal Floyd Vs bertogilgamesh wrote:Floyd would've lost tonight against several boxers. Canelo would have destroyed him.craigjenkins05 wrote:Let's not forget here this was at 154 too mayweather is decent but not a massive welterweight imagine mcgregor fighting a prime full sized active light middle
The experts predicted McGregor would lose every minute of every round.thomasjkelley wrote:Yeah I think we all knew McGregor would win the early rounds but that Floyd's experience combined with McGregor's lack of experience & stamina would be his downfall. To be fair I don't think the experts expected extend Floyd to march forward like he did.forcefraser wrote:The experts predicted McGregor would lose every minute of every round.thomasjkelley wrote:Yeah I think we all knew McGregor would win the early rounds but that Floyd's experience combined with McGregor's lack of experience & stamina would be his downfall. How about when one guy is staggering around tge ring, sagging on the ropes, and not punching back? He was an exhausted punching bag...
Ha MMA refs stop fights the instant someone might get hurt...boxing refs will let them go on.Ossyrules wrote:The stoppage was good obviously but I get where mcgregor is coming from. I think the UFC refs let it go a bit further than boxing refs so it's what he's used to.

Let's be honest, Mayweather could have gotten him out of there any time from the fourth onwards.
Because he was finished. Floyd never once really turned up the heat till the seventh. If he wanted to he could have done and there would have been nothing Conor could do.Ricky_ wrote:Covfefe wrote:Canelo would have destroyed him.craigjenkins05 wrote:Let's not forget here this was at 154 too mayweather is decent but not a massive welterweight imagine mcgregor fighting a prime full sized active light middle

Why? He went to the body viciously in the 4th, his arms were already heavy and he took the air out him. I hardly think brittle fingers Floyd ever expected to blast him out with a single shot, was always going to be a methodical beating.

If a fighter is taking a real beating and doesn't have a realistic chance of winning a bout, a referee probably should stop it.
