:TU:

I would only call it being economical instead of "simplicity".

I think it's incredibly obvious Canelo will attempt to box and move. Golovkin is great at cutting off the ring, though.

Jacob is weak chinned. If GGG is so powerful, why couldn't he get rid of him?

Golovkin will be the boxer in this bout. He won't attempt to slug with the powerful Canelo.

He better use that jab if he wants to survive.
'cause if there's one thing GGG has trouble doing, it's surviving.

I believe he will use his speed and jump on GGG early, then employ the game plan you just described, box and move. GGG cutting off the ring is great to watch, he is awesome at it no doubt. I do hope he doesn't head hunt too much that'd be a mistake.

Couldn't disagree more with everything you've typed
Too right!
Who says Jacobs has a weak chin?? He has never been knocked out, let alone hurt apart from GGG. That's just codswallop.
Canelo is a pretty decent boxer, and improving when his opponent is live and skilled. He is at least 15% improved from when he fought Floyd

Enlightened-One wrote:The Canelo-Golovkin bout won’t be a toe-to-toe affair. It’s not going to play out like a Hagler-Hearns or Gatti-Ward type war. I expect to see both men trying to cautiously outbox their opponent for at least the first third of the fight.

Gennady will inevitably opt to adopt a cautious approach, by initially boxing Canelo from the outside, where his jab will become his preferred weapon of choice, whilst looking for opportunities to work the body whenever his opponent is against the ropes.

Meanwhile, Canelo will try to counter-punch any offensive manoeuvre employed by GGG, whilst using subtle lateral movement, coupled with throwing eye-catching combinations (from the inside), in order to steal the rounds on the scorecards.

GGG and Canelo will only become more aggressive under one of two scenarios: if they identify a weakness in their opponent (i.e. they’re troubled by their power); or if they believe they’re behind on the judges’ scorecards.

I suspect that both men are anticipating this fight to either go to the scorecards or a late stoppage, so they’ll be managing their stamina levels very carefully from the get-go.
You have given this some thought and it shows. While I appreciate that, I can't agree with GGG being the cautious one early on. Canelo is a slow starter when he faces a live opponent, let's forget the corpse of Charvez Jr for a minute, and personally I think GGG will out work him for at least the first 4 rounds. After that I honesty can't predict how it will go. I've seen both these guys fight a lot, but neither has faced this high a level in opponent. Maybe GGG with Jacobs, that's debatable, though it was definitely a better warm up than Canelo's last fight.
There is only one road map to beating Canelo and that is how Floyd did it. GGG is no Floyd. And Canelo has improved since then.
Exciting stuff!
Screw May/Mac, this is the fight to watch :yay:

You are the first person. I ever seen say that Golovkin is too basic and simple of a fighter.
I don't k ow what you have watched. But it wasn't GGG
Floyd said GGG is straight up and down, no special effects.
You let Floyd do your thinking for you? Watch the two fighters. GGG is a better boxer than Canelo.

I re-watched the fight with Jacobs and indeed, Golovkin is a very good boxer. He has a subtle defense too. Probably I'm caught for a moment in the hype of Canelo being the younger - in prime fighter.
