How is Parker tied up until next year?
He will want a 3 month camp i would have thought. Just can not see him fighting again this year. If he loses then rumours are its haye v fury next.

A three month camp to fight Bellew?

Why would he need so long?

And even with a three month camp that fight could still happen before the end of the year.

No, but Haye isn't particularly active either.

If hes serious needs to get out there and fight as many mediocre guys in as short a time as possible. Forget about the money. Even if your fighting for a pittance...it ll do him a world of good. Say at least three or four guys he should be dealing with without too much trouble.

These comebacks of boxers always end up the same way...coming back in too much of a test too early. Hayes been struggling badly with injuries. Hes been out for years. Hes got a new trainer.

Tells you at least three things. Hes gonna be rusty. Hes gonna need time to gel with trainer. Hes gonna need to see if his injuries hold up.

No point rushing it. George foremann had the right idea. Obviously hayes in better shape physically. But still slow and steady. Get back to enjoying his boxing again. Going into a test hes got nothing to build on.

That would have been an excellent idea 18 - 24 months ago when he launched his comeback, but now, I don't think the punters will tolerate him taking on carpet fitters, waxwork dummies & fat cruiserweights anymore.

Haye has backed himself into a corner by trying to con the public & he has little room for manoeuvre now.

George foreman had been out for 10 years, when he returned. He was relatively fresh, had no long term injuries, was a natural hesvyweight, had a serious point to prove to himelf having retired in his prime at 28.

Haye is just milking every last penny he can from his career before hes consigned to the nackers yard. He isnt going to waste time on loads of tune ups.

Wonder if hes angling with a fight with hughie, then parlay that into getting annihilated by joshua. Thing is, im not sure he coukd even beat hughie now, and thd furys would want big money. Money they woukdnt draw themselves.

Not quite sure how thats conning the public mate. Its pretty much the opposite of conning the public. No more jumping in with guys on pay per view to go for the big payday. Get out there and prove yourself all over again. Show the public your winning the battle against injuries. Your not just in it for the payday. Get the confidence back...get the ring rust gone etc.

Its pretty much the only way to go about it. What happens is they chase the money too soon...the test comes too soon then the comebacks over before its got started. Haye needs rounds. He needs his confidence and enjoyment of boxing back first before thinking about challenges. Get in with guys that he should be beating comfortably...get working on getting that weight down etc. And take it from there. Its not like i m saying fight dave allen on pay per view. I m saying fight dave allen but put it on dave or whatever channel will take it free to air. And do it every month. Even if hes fighting for peanuts.

If Hughie can beat Parker then there's no reason that Haye should be the favourite in that match.

Tyson Fury vs David Haye should be the match to aim for.

Good money, for the lineal title and Fury might be beatable if he's destroyed his body in his two years off.

I agree. Haye v tyson is more saleable too. It might be the only thing to motivate the big lug, though ive serious doubts we will ever see him fight again.

Otherwise its just a case of going in with anyone half decent and getting beat again. Haye would comfortably beat lower ranked guys at the minute. But we all pretty much know how it,ll end jumping in with anyone decent too soon.

I just think whats the point. Hes probably more chance of getting a joshua fight doing it the right way anyway. Surely getting five or six opponents in quick succession isnt going to be that hard bearing in mind hes still a ticket seller etc. Just needs to speculate to accumulate.

Haye is too injury prone to get active and fight a bunch of no marks. He could get injured and lose to a nobody, or get injured training for one of the fights and damage his reputation even more.

If he feels the need to fight a weak opponent to build his credibility up a bit before a bigger fight, then he should try to get an angle to make it seem bigger than it is and he should only fight one weak opponent before trying to cash in against a name.

What about the Sexton vs Cornish winner for the British title? He should still be able to beat the winner of that easily enough, right?

Shannon Briggs?

Actually at this point the briggs fight makes sense. Shannons big mouth would sell the fight. Never thought id type those words i tell thee.

It doesn't matter what the kinky Bastard is up to. He's losing to Hughie this month :OhYes:
Ohhh!!! :box:
Just a cotton pickin' minute there, mate!
IF he loses to Huey... :shame:
Saying WHEN he loses to Huey is pure poppycock and you know it.
But your probably correct;

Weeks after criticising Joseph Parker for looking at fights beyond their September 23 date in Manchester, Hughie Fury has apparently sealed a deal to fight David Haye.
In what is an interesting subplot to Parker's WBO world heavyweight title defence at Manchester Arena, Fury's connections appear to be so confident of victory on home soil that they are targeting Haye in what would be a big-money first title defence for Fury.
"I would take me completely seriously because I am coming for that belt," said Fury in a press conference alongside New Zealander Parker in Manchester recently.
Parker, his promoter David Higgins and trainer Kevin Barry have been in discussions with Eddie Hearn over possible fights against Tony Bellew and Anthony Joshua. A fight against Bellew could happen in England as early as December, with a bout against Joshua, the holder of the WBA, IBO and IBF titles, this time next year should Parker retain his belt.

Would rather David just left the stage gracefully.....a decent, live opponent could well see him take a nasty hiding but beating up tomato cans satisfies nobody and especially as David hypes these fights to death and they are never remotely worth that huge fuss.

Maybe a fight with Gorman would be a good way to go out...Nathan would get his first exposure to the 'big time' and Haye could be competitive against a young, green heavy.....but really, the best option is to call it quits.

Haye will fight some unknown boxer who has a bloody good record of nobodies, or an over the hill oldie thats fought decent oppo's in his time.

Johann Duhaupas - A decent record of nobodies.

Robert Helenius - 1 loss in 26 of fighting unknowns

Arnold Gjergjaj - 1 loss in 31 long list of no ones (oops, already been a Hayemaker win)

David Price - certain win for Haye, one last big payday for Price?

Joe Joyce - Rushed too quickly and a great win for Haye????

I've avoided any tough Eastern European for obvious reasons.

Haye is good at selling tickets, and good at talking his way into getting an audience.

As I said in another thread, if he could convince the same people who had been complaining that Audley was crap for a decade to order a PPV when they fought, then I am sure he can convince a big enough crowd to turn up at the 02 again. Even if he's just doing his knocking out bin-men on Dave act.

I don't really mind that, to be honest. If people are willing to pay to cash him into retirement, then why not? But I think we should be honest with ourselves, and say his days as a serious contender to a World Title are behind him.

People who say Haye should retire should also volunteer to pay his retirement pension. You think he has nothing better to do then to sweat in the gym. Mans gotta live, mans gotta eat, mans gotta have shoes to walk on the streets.

I bet he fights someone most of us never heard of before.
