Smith vs Skogland is live on ITV4 next week. They’ve done it back to front. Should have launched with Smith then done the delayed cruiser fight on 16th, with fans hopefully onside.

I'm guessing the deal was cheaper for ITV to not show the less glamourous cards a day later and that's why it isn't shown live on any of the numerous iTV channels they have to offer .As a boxing fan I was looking forward to these fights and I am hoping youtube (by people streaming these themselves) end up streaming these live which has been known with some of the football recently.

I didn't even realise Usyk v Huck was meant to be on ITV. I thought they were just showing the Super Middleweight one, for some reason.

What happened? They didn't screen it live, but you could watch it on Catch Up the next day?

Only online the next day.....if you searched for the link to a new .com boxoffice address on the itv hub website.......google didnt find it..........with no promotion/advert on front page...........and watched it in a window or 640 resolution.................crap. Good fight though!

Jnr shouldn't be a ppv fighter , I doubt if Groves will headline a ppv fight unless it is with jnr or Degale .

Callum Smith is definitely not a ppv headline fighter at this stage in his career .

It will be a bit strange tho, him not on a Sky card .

You've lost me, what do you mean it isn't? Groves and Eubank jnr are fighting on separate PPV events. Groves in September and Eubank in October.

PPV is becoming used as a marketing tool these days. Or at least they are on Sky. (Which is what I'm sure ITV are trying to replicate.) It's another way of conning casuals.

A lot of people assume, as you say, that PPV is saved only for the very biggest fights. By that logic, people assume that something that's on PPV is automatically a big fight.

Aye pal, PPV is the biggest marketing tool after social media. I only buy a PPV if I genuinely don't know what the result will be by that logic I WILL NOT be purchasing AJ/Pulev
