Holy is probably the clearest #1 just because Cruiser has only been around for 40 years and traditionally has been a very weak division because most fighters good enough to be world champ at CW decided to jump straight from Light Heavy straight to the far more prestigious HW crown!! (Roy Jones, Moorer, Byrd, etc).

I think he again was only offensive minded and that won't work vs straight counterpunchers who can move

i just check out, there were rumours that he retired but he denied it april 2017 - and he is looking for an opponent, i don't believe he'll ever back and even if he's back I can't see him compete at the same level as before

Holyfield might beat him next month.

As I said in the another post, Holyfield is #1, Usyk is #2..........

I am watching holyfield/qawi to compare. Holyfield looks slow & slugish next to usyk.

Are you watching fight 1 or fight 2?

Remember, that Evander was actually a novice the first time around & hadn't fully matured at that point.

By the time of the rematch, Holyfield was the 'real deal' & that's the fighter you should be judging.

Usyk is a marvellous Cruiserweight, superb technique, beautiful balance, excellent ring-generalship but is he the best ever? I prefer to reserve judgement on that, but he's certainly in a very select few who might be.

Genuine question that has a big effect on the answer: Are we talking about only their performances as a Cruiser or can our perception of the merits of each Cruiser in contention, be affected by their performances in other weight divisions? Holyfield was a top Heavyweight, as we all know and that does enhance my perception of him as the best Cruiser ever.

Could Usyk win the Heavyweight crown? I believe it's possible, but not very likely. His skills are superior to those of Anthony Joshua he's more elusive (even when stood right in front of his opponent) but it isn't like Joshua is just a huge gorilla, he has plenty of skills of his own. Usyk's one deficiency is that he doesn't carry intimidating power even at Cruiserweight, and I believe Joshua would feel free to go about his business without needing to concern himself with what's coming back at him, and anybody who can't get AJ to be wary of their power is not going to keep him at bay for very long.

What is your rush? Your generation loves to anoint these grandiose types of statements about current fighters when they don't come anywhere close to earning it or proving it. Shows that your boxing intellect is really low. Extremely too low to be posting this much.

Exactly. Usyk a better boxer than aj. But aj just simply has a huge advantage in height reach punching power.
