The Breidis fight will be his true test.

Then again no one has an idea what Mike Perez is capable of at the weight.

Will be clearer in the next few weeks

Didn't Perez fight on a matchroom card some time ago ?

Anybody know if he has been in action since ?

Yeah, I more or less agree with this, but he's also in the 'easier' half of the draw. If Kud does clip Dorticos, then worst case scenario for him is he has to face Gassiev in the semis. I can see a scenario where Kud is first to land a big shot and Gassiev decides he doesn't like it too much... Then it's down to just the one fight. It's a big ask, and I would make him least favourite of the names I mentioned, but I can still see it.

Most likely whoever comes out on top of the Usyk/Breidis/Perez side of the draw wins though. A motivated, in shape Perez could well be the dark horse...
