A gorja was an insult, not really said to your face, not around the romanies in Kent anyway. Not quite as bad as you calling them a pikey, but the same sort of thing none the less. It wasn't an affectionate term. Mickey may disagree.

They also called us "bread and jam eaters" although I still don't know why.

I was just a teenager when I was called this by a grown gypsy man. When I said, mildly offended, that I didn't even like jam this solicited much laughter from the whole trailer.

They seemed to like me after that.

You keep citing Matchroom's worst selling shows of the last few years as justification for last night being a disaster when last night should be their (the promoters last night) biggest event of the year. Everyone here knows that not every Matchroom show is a complete sell out Mick, simmer down. But is there another promoter in the UK who has done more than say 18k ticket sales in the last 2 years, say in 2016 or 2017? I can't think of many if there are any.

Come the end of the year what are the other promoters biggest shows of this year and last year? The two Davis and Saunders shows at the Copperbox for Queensbury? Or has there been a bigger one? You could see the empty seats in the Copperbox for the Davis fight clearly on TV, and this is off the top of my head the biggest fight of the year for said promoter.
Hennessy will obviously be last nights World heavyweight title fight.
And Cyclone have had Frampton v LSC twice which are both excellent shows where I'm sure they made big money on.

Matchroom's strike rate over the last few years has blown the others out the water, there's so few shows that we watch and think 'jesus he must have lost a boat load of money here' like we did last night, compared to the shows that make a bit of money or make a shedload. But for some reason you'll point to a show like Joshua v Molina at the MEN not completely selling out as some kind of counterpoint to last night. Do you really think Joshua v Molina did anything for all involved but make them shedloads of money?

The cost of a fight ticket (or indeed and event for services) has a levy for VAT. There are some complex rules as to what you can then offset, both as the consumer and more saliently, the provider of said services. As a consumer, you can possibly offset if you were a VAT registered business that has invited people.

It makes no difference if they have big tits.

I agree with a lot of that. Eddie pulls if he thinks he's going to bomb. Brook-Chavez for example.

Josh will do more than 18k tickets next summer.

Yeah, but I have never heard a non-gypsy saying "I am supporting him because he is a non-gypsy".

There were plenty who came out of the woodwork to support Tyson "because he is a gypsy like me" or whatever, but they did not come out for Hughie.

Most fans at Fury fights are not travellers. At least 75% in Düsseldorf weren't.

Why is there very few black fans at shows? I'd say the best for following their own race fighters are Asians.

Why on Earth did they pick the Manchester Arena? That would have cost a fortune to hire for a Saturday night to stage a bout nobody really cared about, could have held it somewhere a lot smaller.

£5,000+ for an evening with every now and again. They're wealthy people anyway. Money won't change any decision Tyson makes.

Speaking of events that were going to go badly and ended up being pulled, we could mention Wlad Tyson II (twice), and Hughie in NZ against Parker. The excuses for both not happening just aren't believable.

Wlad-Tyson 1 was a Wlad injury, Parker-Hughie would have sold in NZ, Haye-Tyson had sold out....

'Going badly' doesn't mean badly for all concerned. Wlad Tyson II was ok from a Klitschko point of view but Tyson's lack of popularity meant ticket sales were weak and Wlad doesn't come cheap meaning costs were high in an already small venue. Hence it was pulled. The rescheduled date was pulled as well. And nobody believes Hughie and his bad back story.

I don't know if you've noticed, but Tyson has actually gone mad. Tickets aside, he hasn't been right since Düsseldorf. Have you seen his haka?
