Thinking along these lines too. Pulev is too slow to stink it out, I imagine he'll just go for it and pay the price.

Pulev is a decent boxer, but will be no match for Joshua. He didn't even make the half way point with Wlad. Even if AJ beats the piss out of him Pulev will probably say he got lucky, as he did when Wlad beat him.

I've watched a few of his fights recently and admittedly he was getting away with taking a few liberties that I fully expect Joshua to punish like Klitschko did. What really surprised me though that I wasn't expecting to see, was his very effective body punching but whether he'll get a chance to go on the offensive against AJ is another question entirely.

Pulver is a good boxer and does the basics well for a heavyweight. Jab, right, move. He’s just not on the level of Joshua or Wlad. Anyone else in the division, not including fury, he would probably be 50% chance winner. If he fought Parker he’d be world champion.

Heavy division as ever is light on depth. This is a decent opponent all things considered

pulev will be like a fly. best he can possibly do is annoy aj a bit before aj decides to swat him aside. big victory for pulev even if he just goes past 5. josh could do a one round job if he feels like it.

I would have much rather seen Joshua vs Ortiz, his other mandatory. I guess taking the seemingly easier one makes sense if it is a sure win. Joshua wouldn't even mention Ortiz's name..ever. I find that odd, especially because AJ claimed he wanted only the best fights, and didn't care about belts. Not ready for Ortiz? Guess we will never know now that Ortiz has pissed dirty again.

Pulev is a bigger fight than Ortiz.

If I can get forties in the local bookies I might waste a tenner in it, can't see him being able to hurt AJ in the slightest though to be honest. AJ inside 3

Pulev could potentially give AJ some problems. If he can survive early while getting AJ to gas, Pulev could make it a fight late. It is likely that Pulev will go down and stay down in the first half though.

If I was a bettor I would put $100 on Pulev at 20 or better to 1 for the hell of it. AJ has a track record of being hurt while people concentrate on his real or perceived stamina issues.

Ok. I don't see why. Pulev hasn't done anything even in this era to be considered particularly good, but if you want to believe he's that good go for it.

"That good" is relative. I think that he is good enough to be in the top 20 of almost every year. Eras are a bit vague. When do they begin and end?

Give the man a break bh. Ortiz was going to be his next fight and Pulev was his mandatory much longer than Ortiz. If AJ had wanted a slightly easier opponent (still top 6 don't forget) hadn't he earned that by beating the man?

I think you make too much of his comment that he didn't care about the belts. I might say quite truthfully that money is of no consequence compared to the health of yourself and your loved ones. That doesn't mean I'm planning to give it all away or that I wouldn't appreciate a bit more of it.

Please don't mention it. I've been worrying over how I should dress for the post fight tv interviews when they ask me how I knew that Pulev would KO Joshua. I'm not sure what kind of flower to wear in my lapel, a petunia or a posy?

I've been watching boxing only since the 70's so I don't know what it was like pre '75 but from my memoy there is usually only about 5 guys in the 'A' level HW division. The only difference from then to now is that those top 5 guys would fight each other regularly. Now we only get to speculate how they would go againts each other

Helenius is also standing a lot closer to the camera... I think Joshua does some of these things strategically so he's not too big a favorite or blown out of proportion... He doesn't want anything like the Joe Louis "Bum of the Month Club" where it got boring because he was always such a huge favorite.
