Everyone who has the right promoter will get a shot. They won't get a shot because they are Commonwealth champ, as you said not all comm champs get shots, but the fact they are with Hearn is the diff and belt will be just the excuse they need to put it on Joshua's undercard.

so everyone with hearn gets a world title shot now? and hearn getting thomas a title shot just seems strange. these guys would both be among the worst ever to fight for major title. like i said, more like an allen-sexton fight for british. not even sure allen can win that hes so limited. allen is pampered but i dont think even pampered enough to get world title shot next.

How did this get so twisted?
This fight is basically a stand alone event.
The winner is no more or less advancing anywhere from the outcome. Both nice guys for sure, but neither are contenders for much more just yet- even with a win, they are at least 2 fights at a higher level away from even being in the mix for any international belt. It's just not that type of match.
Parker is beyond bothering about a commonwealth title, his phone rings off the hook with bigger and better offers. If your a HW, want a belt, and can bring some cash, who you gonna call? Joebusters!

It's a redemption fight at a -C level. And with two guys that have their own styles. I'm looking forward to it. A packed card and I would love Dave to keep up his activity in this one. If he wins, I don't know where he goes from here, but where ever it is, you can bet on a few laughs along the way

agree. allen should be very thankful he gets the platforms and opportunities he does, including this rematch. hearn has really supported him. big john was in a different league.

Hearn does have an odd habit of getting a bit too emotionally attached to his fighters, Froch, Barker, Bellew to name but a few.

However, they were all much more worthy of his time than Allen, who has done nothing in the ring to warrant it.

He's never won a title.

Let's not kid ourselves here, this is one of the weakest pairings for the Commonwealth HW title that there has ever been. They are both nice guys and it doesn't mean it can't be a good fight, but they are levels below challenging for anything more significant...
