Stunning knockout victories over JRock Williams and Lubin should have the brothers legitimately able to lay claim to Boxing's P4P lists but instead, the brothers are struggling to get fans behind them.

If I were the kid's agent, i'd pay a little more attention to the post fight interview and the way these two carry themselves. The Charlo's two biggest wins respectively were really marred by the blatant disrespect they showed their opponent in post fight interviews...just plain UNLIKEABLE and a horrible look. Maybe they aren't smart enough to realize what things matter above and beyond talent...but it's something they should really think about paying someone to teach them. Unless, they decide that they want to be the villain and take that road to the bank like Floyd did but even Floyd knew how to be a sportsman after a fight and credit the warriors who risked their lives that night just like they did.

Either way, I just can't help but to always be rooting for the other guy to beat a Charlo...any Charlo. If in fact, they are 2 different people.
Interesting post.

I don't dislike the Charlo brothers, but I don't know enough about their personalities outside of the ring to draw an opinion.

What makes it so difficult for you to like them? Is it their anonymity or have they behaved in an objectionable manner?

If it's the former, then their promoter and managers should be held accountable, since the onus of this duty falls squarely on their shoulders.

You seem to suggest that it's the latter, but have you gained enough exposure to their personalities to draw a definitive opinion?

He also got an opportunity to bring Spence into spar, which to me is when he really made a big improvement. Lara has got to be irritating as hell to spar with....but will help your cardio I guess.

Peds? Lets accuse the guys that refuse to go into the year-long random testing program first.
From everything I've read about the Charlo's and it's the same with most twins, it pains them to be apart from each other. To this day, they still make sure to get the same dumb haircuts and dye jobs. I find it VERY hard to believe that the split was due to the fact that Charlo wanted to open a gym and Shields was against it. That's the reason that their giving...is that worth splitting up with a trainer that made World Champs out of you and your brother?

Nah, there's a bigger reason. I bet they found a way around the tests with this new Nutritionist Jermell is working with. Perhaps Shields wouldn't agree to have him in camp...so one of the Charlo's had to leave so they could score for the both of them.

Boxing has always been the sport that if you are not cheating, you are not winning. The best PED coaches are months...perhaps years out in front of USADA and WADA and their "latest" tests. The only ones that get caught are the ones that can't pay the best for the best stuff.

I'm in awe of their boxing ability and their latest meteoric rise in punching power, though skeptical at how they are achieving it. In the current state of sports, the smoking gun on a dirty athlete has proven time and time again to be sudden improvement out of nowhere against statistical norms. We don't need to have proof to form an opinion like I have and that's sort of sad in it's own right. I do think these two are dirty. But to answer your question, it's the latter.

In the last 2 or 3 years, i can't remember a post fight interview with either Charlo where they weren't boo'd for something they said. There's one thing that boxing fans won't forgive and that's a boxer that is unsportsmanlike. You can say anything BEFORE the fight to sell tickets but on that mic after the fight, win or lose, fans will never gravitate to boxers that disrespect the fighters they just defeated by KO. It's just a horrible look because the post fight interview is supposed to be the window to the boxers soul and where we find out who these guys really are.

IMO, here's some things you MUST say in your post fight interview after knocking someone out regardless: You thank the other fighter for taking the fight. You compliment the other fighter by either calling him a "warrior" or whatever but build him up. Then you MUST say "I hope that he's ok and that he'll be back in the ring and cleared because at the end of the day, we are all risking our lives out here trying to feed our families"

Good opposing example but a couple of points if I may? I was not a fan of TC's post-fight comments or attitude after that fight and to be honest, I find his post fight interviews to be awful. He needs work too but your point is a good one. The HBO Commentators praise TC for his "mean" persona before, during and after fights and criticize every other boxer for it in the past so again, can't argue with your point. But also keep in mind that the Jean fight was in Omaha and Crawford owns that town. He could have shot Lampley that night and still sign autographs on his way to jail.

So why are some boxers loved for this sort of thing and other hated? I think that in the Charlo's case, a lot of has to do with the fact that there's 2 of these clowns acting the fool and not just 1. I find them both just annoying. I love their talents inside the ring though and I think that they both deserve P4P consideration but their just dicks and have no clue how much people dislike their tandem tirades.
