He would if Hearn didn't insist on options. He'd be better off with Eddie anyway, but I won't fault someone for loyalty.

It makes nothing but sense, as far as Hearn is concerned.

Wilder vs Whyte would be hyped to fcuk - with plenty of IFL "beef" and almost certainly a roll-around/hold-me-back situation or three.

It would create lots of casual interest and Sky would love it.

There's a smallish chance Whyte could win - then Eddie has the two heavyweight champs that mean anything. If Wilder wins, the AJ unification becomes even bigger, and possibly sells more PPVs than even the Wlad fight.

Alas, if he's serious about paying Wilder 3 million to fight Whyte (or thereabouts, I'm sure that's the figure I saw previously offered) then it's a nailed on PPV itself.

If Khan Fagan is a PPV then Whyte Wilder is.

I'd watch it - Whyte is always good walks for money and would also probably be the best opponent wilder has faced. They would both also hate each other in the build up - nothing like a bit of genuine beef.

Whyte is crap. He was beaten, easily, by AJ despite his one good punch (isn't that what fighters are supposed to do? Show heart and land good punches?) lost to Chisora for me and labored to all his other wins. Credit to the lad for being a good talker and building himself a decent career, and he's likeable and gives a good interview.

I don't see why Wilder didn't take the Whyte fight- should be a fairly straightforward win for him, a decent payday and would raise his profile in the UK- but he shouldn't HAVE to fight him.

Hearn has the fights he wants to make, and if the fighters don't take them he kind of fucks them around under the assumption that they'll eventually take them. All this "AJ won't fight Wilder until 2019" bollocks is just that: Wilder isn't playing ball with what Hearn wants so he's just going to shelve him until he does. Wilder will just have to keep fighting nobodies and regressing until he capitulates.

If he'd have taken the Whyte fight I imagine he would have gotten AJ after AJ had seen off Pulev/Takam, but he didn't do what Eddie wanted so Eddie will just jerk him around out of spite now, just like he did with Whyte after he declined the Chisora rematch which was obviously the fight Eddie wanted, so he ended up fighting some nobody in front of crickets way down the bill in America probably for fornicate all.

You can tell Wilder is desperate for his payday now. He cannot do an interview now without prattling on about how AJ is ducking him, but he just sinks deeper into irrelevance.

Too many egos involved here all round.

Whyte isn't that good, Joe Joyce yesterday showed a better performance as Whyte showed against the same opponent and people actually claim to feel disappointed in Joe Joyce. On the other side, there's a fair chance Wilder is even worse. Because of this I can very well understand Wilder and his team prefere to avoid someone like Whyte.

For Wilder there is to much risk in the Whyte fight
He will protect his record for a big pay day against AJ

Whyte isn't that good, but he's a nightmare for Wilder.

Decent chin so he won't go down quickly/easily, brave to the point of stupidity so he won't go into his shell and he is always happy to swing away - make no mistake, that left hook that caught Joshua would have Wilder in serious bother.

Wilder is a top 5 heavyweight and Whyte clearly isn't, but styles make fights and Whyte's style is not great for Wilder.

As ad.bcfc says, it's about risk at this stage and with the Joshua fight around the corner, Wilder is sensible to avoid fighters like Whyte.

whyte was getting seriously rocked by chisora. thought looked like he might be stopped at one point. i think wilder would ko him without too much problem.

Hearn trying to cover all his bets, he knows he can put Josh in with any old bum & the hair brained casuals will be falling over themselves to buy overpriced tickets.

Whyte is a borderline novice, Stiverne miles better.
