Funnily enough I'd ALWAYS buy the PPV if I was going - to watch it properly after.
For example, I went to Froch Groves II @ Wembley.., several people the next day said, "ooh that must have been good, didn't Groves enter the arena in a London bus?"

I was gobsmacked - had literally no idea that happened and I was there ?!

Also remember Calzaghe vs Manfredo - was like watching two ants fighting @ the end of my garden @ the Millenium. Had a great night out, atmosphere etc, but I loved getting home to watch it all properly..

By the time I get home, the whole event will be on YouTube anyway

As I’ve said on here before, I believe that the options are buy it or don’t watch it, I don’t agree with stealing sports and movies etc.

i get your point, but lets say im not that excited about a card and wont pay for it because of that. but let's assume i usually buy cards i like.

in the case im not all that excited and thinking its worth money, might not boxing be better off if i stream it, because then maybe i catch an impressive fighter on the card who i want to see more of , who i didnt know much about before, and then i buy future ppvs partially because theyre in them. this would be vs me not watching at all and the fighters being seen by one fewer set of eyes. i think there are prob a lot of ppl like this too.

on the other hand, there r ppl who stream no matter what, and maybe one can argue doing anything to support the streamers just enables these ppl and is overall hurting boxing.

but i admit to being one of the first types and i dont feel bad about it. i pay for quality, and stream stuff that i dont think is that great but ill watch cus im a fan. if streaming wasnt an option, i wouldn't watch those fights at all

If a card isn't worth buying then its not worth stealing. I value my time and watching a card that isn't worth buying is a waste of my time.
Are BMW better off if people steal a car they don't want on the offchance that the thief likes it enough to buy one in future?

lolz i was talking if you stole if from a dealer selling the car. you steal it from them and then they have no car to offer and sell even though they put probably tens of thousnads into acquiring that one vechile. you stream a ppv you weren't going to buy due to not being good enough quality (and wouldnt watch if not streamed) then ppl can still sell it to others with profit not impacted by just you streaming.

the car is 1 physical item and in someone possession. also way more money is lost by taking that car. i steal it and no one else has it. streaming a ppv doesnt mean others cant buy it at same time if they want, and not nearly as much lost due to me watching on a stream vs stealing car.

ask yourself, what does a car dealer lose if i steal a bmw from them. ask yourself, what does a ppv outlet, etc. lose if i stream a fight that i wasnt going to buy and wouldnt have watched w/o stream. as i said, at least the boxers still have a set of eyes on them they wouldnt have had otherwise.

Iv not paid (solo) for a PPV in years... 5ers in/pub/extra beer etc at a mates a couple of times if that counts...
Im not skint, i just find it hard to justify paying to watch (the majority of) these PPV boxing events.

Im a snob when it comes to streams, dont use any paid service & couldn't get on with Kodi.... Not computer savy... Only fight i can recall missing (live) is Cox Vs Groves, the quality was shit so i waited ~half hour until after it was finished...

Im not sure about the rules on this board, but if you consider yourself a stingy fornicate like me and dont know Aceplayer (live) & DaveyBoyEssexUK (fast uploads)... PM me for explanation or let me know if i can edit this or add a new reply.


EDIT: Something i found funny recently... Cant pay for allegedly HD on virgin media.... A shit laptop (& internet) + HDMI cable with ~30second buffer was HD for free though....

Not really worth debating the car thing, the point really, is that a person is a thief or they aren’t.

do you think a person is a thief if they watch on youtube three weeks later on a channel from some random guy. what if i have a mate who ordered and 100 ppl go over for a party and watch w/o paying. is that stealing.

The person 'stealing' the fight is the broadcaster. Nobody would ever get in trouble for watching it.

Obviously not, just correcting your claims of thievery. Streams aren't as reliable as they were years ago so I spend $75-120 for the fights I really want to see. They seldom deliver any value.

I regularly buy PPV but only if it’s a decent fight, brook be golovkin, brook vs Spence, Joshua vs Klitschko. I’ll be making my itv ppv debut with groves vs eubank

I give all the other eubank itv PPV a miss and fights like fury vs Parker I either get a stream or YouTube next day
