I don’t think it would have been bad. It was nicely hyped. It’s still a big what if.

Broners proposed fight with Gary Sykes would of been a complete mismatch

What about Broner vs. Burns couple years back? I know it was never announced, but was heavily talked about for a short while.

I think Burns is/was tough enough to stay with Broner

Danny Williams vs Frans Botha was scheduled for the WBU or WBF in Kampala a few years back - I wrote an article previewing it for an East African GQ type magazine. The funding fell apart then they tried again in Egypt a couple of years later when they were both utterly shot...

Leonard Jr V Hagler Jr.

Thank nature that never happened.

Two fat past their physical primes sons of 2 legends supposedly settling a 30 year old score.

I never realised / forgot that Mayweather vs DLH 2 was supposedly a done deal after DLH was to fight Forbes. Watch the US Telecast of Calzaghe vs Hopkins and they talk about Mayweather vs DLH 2 like it was happening... well given how DLH fought in his fight post Steve Forbes - then that would have also been painful viewing considering the first fight was so close.

Another one wasn't Fernando Vargas scheduled for fight someone about 3-4 years ago... and he looked in woeful shape in all of the hype up moments.

Yeah the Forbes fight was grim viewing! Wasn't it meant to be DLH v May 2 then it ended up Pac?

Oh yes, I had forgotten all about that travesty, presumably their families had a word and put a stop to it...

Yes, clearly showing signs of being shot there... most thought it was down to him being undermotivated - but then Pac destroyed him. I would have hated for Mayweather to do the same, given the closeness of fight 1.

Definitely mate. Hard to believe that was 10 years ago now since Pac dismantled DLH. I tipped Pac for the stoppage in that actually! One of my few correct predictions

Looking back the Mayweather fight was DLHs last stand.

Collins V Benn 3 - They 'threatened' to fight at the back end of last year, but as of yet, it hasn't happened & I hope it's dead in the water.

What an utter embarrassment it would have been to watch two men who are closer to death than birth resurrecting a long forgotten rivalry from 2 decades ago.

Not too sure about this.. Although it was a homecoming fight, I had a feeling it was going to be boring.
The fight he had instead of this was just as boring. :shame:

Briggs vs. Wlad..

Although it would have just been a one-sided beating like Vitali-Briggs.

Leonard vs Hearns 2 was still one of the fights of 1989.

And one of the worst decisions of 1989
