I don't think Oscar brings enough money to make it worth McGregor's while. It definitely wouldn't be an undercard. Too much money and too much ego.
I think that a fight between Oscar and McGregor would be as big as the Floyd McGregor fight. Oscar was the biggest PPV seller in boxing in his prime. They would hype this one up.
Probably not quite as big but certainly generates substantially larger purses than defending a UFC belt
Substantially larger than 20-25 million? I'd bet substantially against that.

You think Oscar/McGregor would do 4 million buys? You have to be joking. Oscar/Tito did 1.4.
Oscar Floyd and Pac did a lot more. This was in a time where there was virtually no social media as well.

I doubt this is the first time you’ve been wrong though.
This fight isn’t happening but ODLH returning against anyone that people have heard of would generate money.

Generating money and generating tens of millions isn't exactly the same thing. The selling here would be all on Conor, he'd do more defending his belt in the cage.

Oscar/pac did less than that. Floyd is the unicorn. McGregor already cashed that in. The 'vs' in your insult made your point easier to comprehend.

He'll fight in the UFC for sure but I don't think he will fancy working with Dana White too much longer. He may believe he's above "the boss" now that he's gotten a taste of someone who is a true boss in their sport. It'll be easier for him to setup his own boxing promotion than MMA.

Boxing generates more money.
Oscar was indeed a star a long time ago. His return against anyone with a tiny bit of name recognition would generate more for him than McGregor will for a UFC defence.

Oscar wouldn't generated money against anyone. His popularity has waned over the years but I believe a fight with McGregor would sell because
1. It's a fight McGregor has a decent chance to win which hardcore MMA only fans will want to see.
2. Oscar is a known enough name in the mainstream to sell a fight even if his popularity as dropped. My mother knows who De La Hoya is but didn't know who McGregor was prior to the Mayweather fight.

They do, but they're willing to pay to see him beat a boxer for bragging rights. Just like they paid to see him fight Mayweather even though 90% say Mayweather is too boring for them to ever purchase a PPV. They won't pay to see him fight someone like GGG because they realize he's out of GGGs league.

Why get a little piece percentage of UFC like Mosley to DLH when he could fully own his boxing promotion with him co promoting and headlining with DLH while learning on the job? Boxing Promotion is more open to starting than MMA. Ask Jay-Z and 50 cent.

GBP was never worth 5 billion dollars. If he gets a small piece of all profits and an even bigger cut of his own fights that's far superior than being an abject failure in Boxing like Jay Z and 50-cent.

Whatever it's worth, DLH owns most of the pie which means he'll have more money than Connor owning 2% of the UFC.

I forgot the dlh pac fight was when pac was an unknown. As was Floyd for the most part when he fought Oscar.
I think all the casuals who bought Floyd McGregor will buy Oscar McGregor too. DLH will shamelessly promote it, he will know how to do it as well as it can be done. Wouldn't be surprised to see McGregor bringing out DLH tranny pics in the build up. We might see Floyd Sr. Back in Oscar's corner going toe to toe with McGregor again at press conferences and going viral on YouTube etc. Mug casuals will fall for it in the US. I don't think people on here appreciate how big DLH was in the US.

It's an interesting fight, I just don't see it being profitable enough for McGregor's time. Though if Oscar wants it bad enough he can risk a loss tossing Conor a huge guarantee for a co-promotion. I'll be very surprised if McGregor's next fight isn't in a cage.
