I thought Floyd won 9 rounds.
He did. It wasn't close. Hell Floyd vs Cotto was closer, and there's zero controversy there.

Mayweather’s dad had ODLH winning.
Which is just retarded. I would've told my Father on camera to never speak to me again if I were Floyd. That piece of sh*t would never see a dime from me nor get another moment of my time for the rest of my life if he said something like that about me after my (at the time) career defining win.

Whether he believed it or not is irrelevant. I'd never speak against my Son like that after a major accomplishment. I don't think any Father would who's not a complete scumbag.
Looks like the "like father like son" saying applys here.

Possibly. I don't know that I'd consider Jr. a "scumbag", but he's certainly not the finest example of Humanity or anything. I kinda doubt he'd run down one of his own sons after they achieved something great though. Then again, he might.

116-112 for Floyd. I don't snore for 'pressing', whatever that means.

Floyd definitely rocked Oscar with a double right cross, with his back to the ropes. Beautiful timing.

What did everyone have? (I know it's been 10 years)
Interesting.
I've heard of that website but have never bothered with it, maybe I'll look into it soon.
38%................................so that's a little over one third for a fight that was a split decision.
One third of the scorecards that actually matter went to Oscar, a little over a third of the irrelevant scorecards on that site call it controversial.
35 scorecards doesn't seem like very many though.

9-3 Mayweather
Not even close to controversial. Floyd out classed him

- Sweetcakes glee club coming together over trivia they're too sugared up to understand, is it?

Officially we know TUE 50-0 is undefeated, but we also know he had a lot of assistance officially AND unofficially as Thomas Hauser proved in spades. Add on his less than manly demeanor in and out of the ring, about the only real danger he represents is accidentally getting too close to him where his 6-pack of 300lb beefcakes could pile on the unsuspecting victim.

Oscar scored 340 pts to Floyd 344 pts = 49.7% vs 50.3%, a difference of 00.6% points, hardly dominating but I suppose to Weensy IQs the difference is YUUUGE!!! It just so happens the fight came up last week when I had nothing better to do, so I watched it again without scoring. For the whole of the fight it was embarrassing to see a grown man flee around the ring before cowering on the ropes and call himself a fighter? I'd suppose the same folks who thought Sweetpea beat Oscar based upon no more than spoiling and clowning would be the same who thought Floyd won.

Image

The prevailing opinion is Oscar won the first half and Floyd the second half, a fight so close that had Judge Jerry Roth scored the last round for De La Hoya like the other two judges, the fight would have been a draw...and who was it that retired in the middle of rematch promotions claiming he weren't never working slave wages for HBO and Oscar again? And who was it that took the place of that fight at the exact same date, weight, and venue and easily knocked out Oscar for the rest of time with no controversy whatsoever? And who was it who came crawling back to work with Oscar and HBO the very next year to fight JMMarquez 2 divisions up at a catchweight Floyd never bothered to make? And had his entire purse seized by the IRS?

It was this guy...errrrr, your sorta maybe a guy!

Floyd was, and always will be, a stain on the sport. Both in and out of the ring.

115-113 De La Hoya. I think Oscar has beaten 3 fighters who were faster and more skillful by being more aggressive.

He did a far better job of fighting and beating his contemporaries than most guys which is what the sport is supposed to be about. His resume is fantastic by the standards of his era
