you said parker and his team think 100 percent theyd beat aj, not simply that they think he could beat him. i dont buy it at all that pretty much all high level athletes percieve no risk of losing to anyone. total bs to generalize such a high level of certainty. plus of course they will act confident in public.
but look at the reality of cautious matchmaking, catchweights, pre fight nerves, etc. and too high of demands when if the win was guarnteed they could just take the fight and make huge bucks and glory with the inevitable wins.
your saying there is no risk vs reward calculation, which is bs. this sport is built on risk vs reward these days. .a team is doing a bad job if they dont recognize their fighters limitations

I keep reading that 25-30% of an AJ fight is huge money and Parker should be grateful he's getting that.
Well 60% of that fight is mega bucks. If AJ wants the belts take the fight at that, Parker will bite your hand off, you'll still get the lions share, which is a damned fortune, you get home advantage and you can demand every little thing in your favour provided Parker is delighted at his share and you can get your belt (I reckon AJ whips him)
People are talking about £20m. 60% of that is £12m for the fight you really want next.

Trust me when I tell you Parker will knock Joshua out .
Parker was ordained to be undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.
Joshua and Hearn need to realise that the rematch will be the biggest fight in HW boxing history.
After which Parker can fight Wilder for all the belts.
If only Joshua had a decent chin . Wilder knocks out AJ as well but they can’t knock out a Samoan ( Parker ) with his bullet proof , dynamically engineered, unbreakable super chin.

AJ , wants , the 3rd biggest name in heavyweigh boxing after himself and Wilder wants home advantage , wants Parkers belt ,Wants a rematch clause if HE loses no rematch clause if Parker loses , and wants the Lions share of the purse , does'nt want much does he ,
Perhaps Eddie is getting beyond himself,, he might just be over estimating Aj's worth, here after his lacklustre performance last time , the fact that his chin is'nt has good, has first thought .. WHO is he gonna fight next time , He needs a wiin but not any old win he needs a win against a decent name, They can dig up Chisora , he'll have a go but they won't sell out wembley ppv will be down , Fury , not yet , Hughie Fury , Nope , Wilder fook he'll want 50-50 ... So who else with a profile , a belt , and willing to have a go .. Same name keeps springing to mind PARKER .
tHEY WANT THE EASIEST , AND HIGHEST PROFILE AT THE MOMENT pay the man HIS 35%,,,, other than that , big daddy brown will have a go , , and he'll probably do it for 20% only problem is ppv and ticket sales will be down so AJ will need 80% to earn the same .
Funny enough Parker was'nt so well known until his manager started acting like a fool , Guess he's doing a good job , in a ameteurish sort of way

Do you think he is the 3rd biggest name in the heavyweight division? His last fight was only on youtube PPV and had a very low buy rate. He is the 21st Century equivalent of Damiani.

Parker isn't a name. He might be in New Zealand but the Hughie fight was embarrassing.

I don't know what Eddie has offered but I think 80-20 is about right. As mentioned Parker is no big deal. WBO belt really means very little but in this case its likely to earn Parker 30% so another 2 million. Ortiz and Povetkin are bigger/tougher fights. Wilder & Fury are the big ones.

He has a world title , thats enough , Ortiz and Povetkin are not big names , neither is Dillan Wyhte or Chisora, or Hughie Fury , Only other big names are Fury and Wilder , and they can't sell tickets either ,, Aj is just the best of a bad bunch , the worst, the heavyweight scene has been for years . Aj can refuse to give him 35% , but there not stupid , its the only relativly easy fight on the face of it , that will generate big money , other big money fights Fury and Wilder are not happenning , and probably won't happen at all they will both want more than 35% , and Eddie is greedy , so just take them 5 opponents , Ortiz , Povetkin , Fury , Wilder , and its Parker you keep coming up with that might generate interest, and is a fight both sides want .. Joshua cannot keep fighting guys like his last fight and expect to sell out wembley , 2 of the others are not happenning and the other two are probably more dangerous .

AJ just sold 75k for Carlos Takam - a guy Parker beat and a guy barely known in the UK with an average undercard.
If Joshua has two fights in the next year and they're against Ortiz/Pulev/Hughie/Haye/Povetkin/Whyte and one against Wilder where do you think those fights would happen? The answer is big venues/stadiums and he'll make a fortune.
Meanwhile Parker can do what? Go back to YouTube? Risk losing his title?

True. Those samoans are unbeatable.
Absolutely dominated boxing since the beginning of the game

To be fair, they do matter. Joshua has untold options and the vast majority of his paying audience won’t care if it’s Parker or Whyte. In fact, I’d say the casual would be more interested in a Whyte or even a Haye fight if anything. Parker is completely unknown outside of boxing fans. Wilder is different because he’s louder and has the knockout highlight reel along with the recent Stiverne demolition going in his favour right now. Parker’s recent showings are hideous to watch and the common foe Takam ran him very close where as Joshua strolled to victory over him

But other fights do matter because Joshua has options. It's not like the world is crying out for Joshua Parker as a contest; we all know Joshua will almost certainly win.
My position hasn't changed on this. Joshua clearly can continue along the path he's on and Parker needs to agree to something soon because he's not good enough to hang onto his belt for much longer.

Joshua may have options but he wants Parker's belt, that is his favoured option. Therefore other fights don't matter. The only thing that matters is a fair price between Joshua and Parker. I'm a little disappointed that some posters on here seen to think that Parker should take less than he feels he is worth just because he hasn't earned that much before. Fair pay isn't too much to expect is it?

parker can try as long as the mandatory is weak or he can pick his challengers. but as suggested even someone like breazeale would be a serious threat.hell have to be flexible eventually, unless he somehow gets drastically better, which i doubt he will.that goes back to being realistic. his team sucks if they blow off an aj fight and then, lets say, go defend against miller for way less thinking its a sure win,
only really thing better than aj i might be able to see is if pov becomes mandatory and russians do a huge bid. although pov prob beats up parker he would be more beatable than aj and is almost 40.
but ya

I don't think it is Joshua's favoured option anyway. That would be Wilder and Fury. It's not like the WBO belt is a must have anyway. Look at the names who are absolutely legendary and never fought for it.
Point is Parker should get a fair price but who determines what is fair? What does he bring to the fight? A few thousand YouTube viewers? It's also a mismatch really. A man who badly struggled and some would say loses against Hughie and Ruiz is going to get beaten up by Joshua.

its mainly just to hype the opponent as a champ and the fight as unification, and get aj closer to 'undisputed!' id think. although i wonder how close joshua is to maxing out. like, how many ppl are out there who dont buy his fights now but would be it if he was facing parker or even wikder for another belt? wouldnt think its that great in the uk and dont think building joshua in nz is really much if a goal
parker is still considered credible top 10 ( i thought he list to ruiz) so it would be a decent name to add to his resume anyway, but thats more of a hardcore boxing nerd thing and not worth giving up big dough over
was it higgins or hearn who recently said theyre only single digits percentage away from terms?that would lead me to believe maybe around 70-30 would be a go?

He brings a lot to the fight. He is a young live fighter who holds one of the belts. He would be the second best name that Joshua has fought and the best name under 40 that he has fought. He gives Joshua a chance to win 3 out of the 4 belts and add a good name to a very very light resume. and he only wants 35 percent whereas the other guy isn't satisfied with around 2/3 of the purse. He wants more. Maybe even as much as 3/4. Which guy is being greedy again?

He's going to get battered and we all know it. He brings a belt and very, very little else. To repeat, when Hughie and Ruiz are testing you to the point where you're nicking razor thin disputed decisions Joshua is just going to hammer you.
Joshua does massive numbers for PPV and gate against opponents that, against Parker, do well in New Zealand and nowhere else.

He may well get battered. Fights are held in a ring though not on paper. He still deserves a fair pay day regardless.
