Now with a record of 17-1 and still arguably one of the better boxers at 126lbs. I'd say this loss might shake up the division a little bit.
He's not the bogey man of the division anymore, He's been beaten once and promoters will start to think a match against him would be worth the risk. he has been beaten now and this should give a lot of people confidence to try their luck against him. If the hand injury is legit. Then his comeback fight will be interesting,

Magdaleno - unification with the WBO
Vargas - Unification with the WBC
Iwasa - Unification with the IBF
Daniel Roman - Fight between the WBA Super and WBA world champions
The IBO belt is still technically vacant so he could fight anyone he chooses as his comeback opponent as well as defending the WBA Super world title.

These are just the title fights, there are still a few big names he could fight at either Super-bantamweight or Featherweight if he decided to move up a division

X2

This makes the most sense. I am not interested in seeing him fight again. I have to admit that I would watch him v Walters at say a 128 catchweight. Battle of the dudes who quit way too early v Nomassiah.

He bypassed the entire Featherweight division. I wouldn't mind seeing him fight any of the upper echelon guys there. It's a deep division.

I would record it, unless I had absolutely nothing else going on.

Can't say I'm entirely over the moon with Rigondeaux right now, looked like he quit if you ask me.
At this point Rigondeux is nowhere near the top of the must see list after last night.

In my defence I'm reading and posting on a little tablet and it's not as easy to see what you're doing as it is on a big computer screen, and two threads had somewhat similar titles. Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking with it!

True, but he did quit.

How could he hurt his hand? He didn't punch anything. They should withhold his paycheck.

True isn't it, Rigondeaux hardly hit anything.

Rigo should rest his hand if its broke, and get back in the ring and campaign at 126, and pick up as many paychecks as he can before he can't..

I don't really see how his hand would be broke, and there ain't much time for him left to pick up paychecks of any significance in the fight game so he better get after it soon.

For me the hand is what ever....Loma totally dominated him and if fight continued Rigo was probably going to get KO'd , his legs where buckling the round before, It was too much Loma, anyways the main point here is Rigo is at least 37 and can probably still beat some people, but he has to be busy and fight until he gets beat physically bad and retire. It's all about getting as much money as he can so he can retire in a little house in Florida. and supplement his income with his next job.
