Jacobs was a good win lucky win could have gone either way, and Canelo was the smaller man coming up in weight to fight, GGG..

Why are people speculating about this fight?

Lomachenko is with Top Rank and Garcia is with Haymon. Part of the reason why both stables don't fight each other that often, is because Arum won't pay the sums commanded by the PBC fighters

Also, two of the last three fights Garcia has competed in have been at the 140lbs weight class, but Lomachenko is a 130lb-er.

Finally, wasn't there a promotional dispute between Garcia and Top Rank that resulted in a lawsuit and a complete breakdown of their relationship? I know that Bob Arum has repeatedly slagged off Garcia to the media.

For the record, I'm not being argumentative. Instead, I really want to know why people are seriously discussing this fight?

I believe that it is generally accepted that Gingerhead came in at a higher weight. Makes no difference to me, they both made the weight.

Also, I am not trying to denigrate Nomassiah’s win over TRex Jr. They were at the same weight. The Ukrainian had more than just skillset advantages though.

Absolutely true. Height does matter.

They were fighting in the same weight class. Gingerhead fought at a higher weight the match prior.

russell is a thick, stocky guy. hes going to be giving away height and reach to lots of ppl who hes more solidly built then. i mean 122 jamie mcdonnell is like 5;10 with a 72 inch reach. is he massively bigger than russell? size wasnt really a big deal. this wasnt someone boiling down several classes to bully much naturally smaller ppl.

and really why is danny jacobs really that much better than a guy like russell? when you factor in that in his third pro fight loma made russell miss like an idiot, and ggg got tagged repeatedly and arguably lost, which he did on many ppls cards, i dont really rate gggs win over jacobs any higher. gggs next best win after that is probably martin murray

I nicknamed him TRex Jr for a reason. I felt that he was overrated prior to the Nomassiah fight. I still think that it is a solid W. But let’s not try to put it up there with defeating prime Pac by Planquiao.

of course your downplaying it. why else mention this supposed size advantage. your using it to try to take away from how the win is rated. russell is just a stocky fighter. until now ive really never seen ppl act like he was size bullied by loma.

Jacobs lost a close but clear decision. It was not controversial.

3G deserves to be number 1 p4p in my opinion at this time. He got screwed, Jacobs did not.

Nomassiah is right there. I would put him at number 1 if he beat Berchelt which he should be able to do, or he went up and beat Linares or Easter.

Unless, of course, Hitman Jr does in Once Upon A Time in the meantime.
