I've said it before and I'll say it again. The problem is the fights are being made in slow motion.
IF Joshua defended against Both Parker and Ruiz in 2018
AND IF Wilder defended against Ortiz and Povetkin in 2018, with the Winners fighting each other in 2108 or early 2019 all of a sudden it would be a Great Division.

It was about 7 years ago and Huck was in his prime and a top top cruiserweight tough as hell.Povetkin deserved tbe decision in a good close fight
You are clutching straws cause you hate Povetkin. How sad are you.
Re: Heavyweight Truth
Can't argue with that even if the scenario is about as likely as Zhang Jun Long unifying the four belts in 2019 or 2020Tony1244 wrote: ↑18 Dec 2017, 11:00 I've said it before and I'll say it again. The problem is the fights are being made in slow motion.

Yes, even if Joshua/Wilder aren't as technically proficient as Holyfield/Bowe or Ali/Frazier or whoever you wanted to compare them to. Even if the schedule I proposed, they all look like rock em sock em robots, people wouldn't be complaining about the division if it were entertaining; the best fighting the best on a regular basis.candyslim wrote: ↑19 Dec 2017, 09:20Can't argue with that even if the scenario is about as likely as Zhang Jun Long unifying the four belts in 2019 or 2020Tony1244 wrote: ↑18 Dec 2017, 11:00 I've said it before and I'll say it again. Sadly as you say - unlikely. The question is why because the fans would come out.

Let's just say I'd be delighted if Wilder fought Ortiz or Povetkin in 2018, both of them is way too much to ask, even if it shouldn't be. Joshua's not the problem. He'll fight twice next year against genuine contenders maybe even belt holders, and I'd caution you against suggesting he might be less skilled than the likes of Riddick Bowe or you'll incur the wrath of the kalanTony1244 wrote: ↑19 Dec 2017, 09:57Yes, even if Joshua/Wilder aren't as technically proficient as Holyfield/Bowe or Ali/Frazier or whoever you wanted to compare them to. We all agree we want to see Wilder vs Povetkin and/or Ortiz, the debate is to who would win and why they haven't the happened?
I think Wilder would have a good chance, but if Deontay was KOd in 1, I wouldn't be very surprised and my life would move on, just like when I watched Duane Bobick and Leon Spinks, who I both liked a lot get KOd in 1.

Mike Tyson got knocked out by Bust Douglas... a fatso who ate his way out of the Heavyweight Division..
Ridiculous Bowe got beaten up by the crude swinging Foul Pole Golota... At the same time he got a vasectomy...
Razor Ruddock allowed LL to T-off on his chin and crush him pronto....
Ray Mercer landed 5 power shots in 6 rounds fighting Wladimir Klitschko... Then he got shelled and stopped.
Foreman was a FATBOY in his mid 40's....
Witherspoon couldn't be bothered with training and let Big Foot Martin can him...
Tony Tucker got ripped out in 2 rounds by Herbie Hide... Hide couldn't make it through the 2nd round with Vitali Klitschko.
Lewis is number NINE???? .... He's the best fighter there by 10,000,000 miles...
Moorer was a 20 second job for David Tua... He was a chin looking for a canvas... He also has something else in common with Tommy Hearns besides a weak chin ... they both won Light Heavyweight Titles.
It's gotta be pretty bad when 2 of the above were beaten by Tommy "The Puke" Morrison.
