It is not white collar boxing, it's unlicensed boxing.

White collar is a very specific thing. It is where people box 3x2 minute rounds in vests and headguards with 16oz gloves against people of the same weight and experience for charity. They do not get paid.

IBA, EBF etc are not white collar (although they may occasionally permit a white collar fight on their shows). They are essentially run like a watered down version of pro boxing but are not licensed by the BBBofC. Fighters are on ticket deals and get paid.

The whole licensed/unlicensed or pro/semi-pro thing is a complete misnomer as licensed pro basically means licensed by the board. EBF etc have their own licenses.

Semi-pro is essentially anyone who does a job and gets paid but it isn't a full-time living for them and they have another job (ie semi-pro footballers at Conference North/South level). In that regard, most BBBofC licensed fighters are also semi-pro as only around 20% of all boxers are fortunate enough to make a full-time living out of the game.

I'm a BBBofC board supporter through and through, but I have nothing against proper white collar events. I'm not a fan of unlicensed but I really don't like how the lines are blurred and some forms of boxing are incorrectly labelled. White collar and unlicensed are not the same thing.
