All true, and if Tyson tried to slug it out with AJ or Wilder he’d almost certainly get ko’d early, so I don’t think anyone would blame him for trying to box defensively there.

But we’re talking about how to improve his ticket selling abilities generally, and boxing more aggressively is something which would help in that regard, at least against some of the lower level fighters who he’d likely be returning against.

There is no logic to get. Kids get into boxing and adults keep watching boxing and buying tickets because of fighters like Tyson and Naz and fights like Eubank Benn and Hagler Hearns.

Nobody watched tubby Tyson Fury flapping around a ring landing six shots a round against shot-shy Wlad landing four shots a round and became a boxing fanatic. Nobody is saying he needs to fight differently - might as well do what's effective - but there's no point pretending his style is exciting.

ur missing the point mickey. were talking about what draws ppl and thats certainly not ultra negative boxing, even if thats most effective for tyson and what he should stick to vs top opponents. its just hard imo for the public to be very interested in that. floyd in the us is a huge exception.

its not just the wlad fight either. i think chisora 2 may actually be the worst fight ive seen. i used to look forward to every fury fight, he was in some really fun ones, but hes just become so negative. meanwhile aj goes out there agressively looking to do damage,

you get the masses screaming to that, not 5 feints, a flicking jab, and a side step. at least wlad in his boring career had the power to eventually break up the monotony of the negativity and often end hard.

Floyd built his profile into the ultimate guy people paid to see lose. He also made sure he was getting involved with fighters that would come with massive backing in order to make those sales happen - (De La Hoya, Canelo, Pacquiao, Cotto, Marquez.)

Fury can't really do that. The division doesn't have the depth and the only name at the weight that generates big money is Joshua.
