I'm not sure why you say Vitali Klitschko and Sonny Liston are overrated.... Who's overrating them???

If Sonny got his title shot in the 1950's he be much higher rated.... He was 35-1 with 1 fluke loss when he met Clay

Vitali had 210 amateur fights, 36 Kickboxing matches and 47 professional fights of which he won 45.... And that's with taking 4 years off in mid-career.... If all of his fights had gone to the scorecards he'd have nothing bu UD's and KO wins.

It's not "bitching about things". I judge them like I would anyone else. I don't make crybaby excuses for anyone else who loses these kinds of fights in similar situations. I don't give credit to fighters based on win/loss records or WBS title defenses which is what some people love to do with the Kltischkos.

If you find many examples of where I have made lame excuses for fighters who lost in similar situations to the Klitschkos, point them out.

If you can find any examples where I gave credit to fighters for doing something similar to what the Klitschkos did, point them out.

You're so damned stupid your mouth should be permanently wired shut.... You can't read.... If his fights went to the scorecards and KO's DON'T go to the scorecards... but when one fighter is injured they often do---such as Cintron-Williams went to the score-cards Williams DID NOT push Cintron out of the ring or injure him in any way... The injury happened in the course of the fight, much like Klitscko's injury against Byrd happened in the course of the fight...

Cintron claimed he couldn't continue and they went to the scorecards... I'm not saying that was a good decision to make, but they wanted to screw Cintron who thought he was getting out of the fight with a technical draw.

Klitschko DID lose the Byrd fight due to a severe injury where he couldn't continue.... The Lewis fight should have gone to the scorecards because Lewis fouled him repeatedly https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtdOteT5G0Q

F.O. You Walter Mitty fantasist freak. The video shows nothing except pathetic editing by another freak Klitschko fanboy. What the video in which Vitali is talking in the ring shows is him making no such claims about thumbs or slashing of the face with the palm of the glove. Even allowing for the fact that his degree is merely in sports science, I'd say he is still far more intelligent, and believable that a pathologically lying gutless piece of shite like you
The video doesn't lie you stupid lying piece of garbage... Until he saw the video clips and this one didn't come out til fairly lately, Vitali didn't realize the extent to which he was fouled... You might think a headbutt, or a thumbstrike, or whatever was accidental... Until such time as you can see the videos that sharply capture the action from the right angle.

For years I've read all kinds of anti-Wlad sentiments. They wrote him off completely a few times before he toughed it out with Sam Peter. He had to have had a boatload of desire and self belief to retool and rebuild after those losses. He made the right choices with his team and in the years after gaining momentum, he always carried himself well and with class. I've always enjoyed him and feel he graduated into a fine World heavyweight champion and ambassador for boxing.

I think what bugs some people when other people rate him far higher than he should be. It's simply isn't fair to fighters who were better.
Obviously he had some ability. He had decent boxing skills and was a hard puncher. I thought he was going to be the next big thing. Like many It thought maybe the Purritty fight was a fluke. He had some nice blowout wins where he was impressive. Then came the Sanders fight. He looked so bad in that fight that it created a lot of doubt. Then came the Brewster debacle. After that I had no doubt that he was not a great fighter.
He had weak chin and poor stamina. He later tried to overcome this fight clutching and grabbing so he would get hit as much. And he fought at a much slower pace so he wouldn't get tired. It work to a certain extent because his competition the next several years was so bad.
I just cringe when I hear how he got better. He didn't get better. His competition was just so pathetic. Real boxing fans who know that the pretty win/loss records don't mean any anything know this.
Beating Chris Byrd does help his case a little bit but it's not nearly enough to warrant the acclaim that some people give him.
Doesn't mean that he was a bad guy or that he sucked. He just simply was not a great fighter.

Weak chin??? Was Wlad ever stretched for the count like Joe Louis??? NOPE!!!! .... Was he ever stopped with 1-shot like Lennox Lewis??? NOPE!!!! .... Did he beat Ray Mercer a lot worse than Lewis of anyone previously??? You bet.

Who were Wladimir's best opponents??? Most people say David Haye and Alexander Povetkin who he dominated.... How long after he got with ATG coach Emmanuel Steward did Wlad fight them??? 8 years and 10 years.... Is that time enough to make major adjustments and improvements to his game using a work ethic is as diligent as Wlad's??? YES!!!!

Most people acknowledge that Emmanuel Steward was one of the greatest boxing coaches in history.... But Alp doesn't want to give him a shred of credit for Wladimir Klitschko's transformation into an ATG Heavyweight. :shame:

You can make a case for Vitali perhaps as an ATG. But I dont think so for Wlad. He got stopped by forgettable fighters. Steward was a great trainer. Not with Wlad though. Ruined his career like he did with Lewis. Took an exciting heavyweight he deemed chinny, and had him play jab and grab all the time. Also fought less than desirable competition.

What do you mean "LESS THAN DESIRABLE" competition??? That's American propaganda. How many fighters would fight Anthony Joshua at 41? Not many. Ibragimov didn't win but he beat on Savon's face and made him look like the loser by nearly shutting his left eye... The referee gave Savon respites by stopping the fight to examine and clean up Savon's face and eye with tissues. Wladimir is the only professional fighter who ever beat Ibragimov or Povetkin.

Sam Peter was the undefeated favorite and thought to be the next Heavyweight Champion when Klitschko beat him.... Alexander Povetkin is an Olympic Heavyweight Champion.... David Haye was a 25-1 Heavyweight Champion with great speed, power, and boxing ability... Not many Heavyweight Champions faced better competition or reigned for as long. He faced 6 southpaws, more than any other Heavyweight Champion: Bryd, Thompson, Sanders, Chagaev, Pianeta, and Ibragimov... Lewis, for instance, faced none.

Buster Douglas was knocked out by 3 far lesser opponents than beat a massively flawed Wladimir... That didn't stop Douglas from getting a fight with Mike Tyson, beating the crap of him, and blasting him out.... I'm sure if Douglas had gone on to reign as Heavyweight Champion for 10 years instead of falling through his ass, he'd be considered an ATG because he's an American... It's funny how when Eastern Europe started producing Heavyweight Champions and Americans started getting their asses kicked, that the division started sucking... Sour grapes.

Not American propaganda. Its a fact. Propaganda is hyping up the division to be good, when its dreadful, because its full of Europeans. Of course he wanted Holyfield and Tyson. They were cooked. Lewis was lined up to fight him, but he got ko'd once again. Olympic medals mean nothing in the pros. The guys Douglas lost to were by far better than the ones that ko'd Wlad. Cant remember them all. Do remember he was ko'd by Holyfield and Tucker. Holyfield was overrated, but looks like the best ever compared to the guys that starched Wlad. Tucker looks like an ATG compared to them. Wlad got ko'd by a journeyman before his prime was over. Brewster was average. The division started sucking well before then. Maybe if they were forced to fight instead of clinching and riding their opponents around the ring like farm animals, people would respect them. His comp was a joke.
