Anthony Logan was on the verge of stopping Nigel Benn before getting sparked out, it's funny because today that fight would have been stopped long before Benn unleashed that punch.

Was Benn the betting favorite over Eubank in their first fight? Been had been stopped and hurt a few times. This Logan fight happened before Eubank too.

Ah, good question. I don’t remember, you would have thought Benn. Eubank was unproven at the time. Remember they signed the contract on TV, Eubank turned his back on Benn the whole time. It was ace

I suppose benn was more proven. Eubank hadnt shown his chin yet, which may be the best in British boxing history.

I'd imagine Benn was the favourite with wins over higher profile opponents like Dewitt and Barkley.

Juan Manual Marquez vs Katsidis is another one that comes to kind.
I've been thinking of a fighter who could beat Lomachenko technically and at 126 I think JMM might have been able to do it. He was avoided by Naz Hamed for years. The Katsidis fight was past his prime I think. JMM was no joke. He might have kept Lomachenko under control with his counter punching.

Paul Ingle took Jones to school. And he'd flown home to Scarborough because he couldn't handle being in Big Bear. Flew back to New York for the fight. Ran everyday on Scarborough beach to lose weight. In a sweat suit.

If I remember rightly - although Sky had Ingle ahead, the judges had Jones ahead at the time of the stoppage. It was a close fight, but Ingle was winning for me.

Paul didn't like travelling at all. I thought he out boxed Jones, on the big stage.

Talking of Ingle, I recall him nearly tripping up with Neil Swain in his very early days.
I always remember Ingle giving Hamed all sorts of problems, especially late on. That was a brave performance.

Good choice. Anyone else think it was an 'iffy' stoppage by Mike Jacobs?

Someone mentioned Santos overmatching Sinclair but for a few seconds it looked like there may be an upset on the cards.
Same when noted non-puncher Jones dropped Freitas.
