At least you can’t accuse me of disclosing information that had already been discussed at length previously, but you won’t concede that blatantly obvious point, will you?
Come on now. You are guilty of this. How many times have you accused Kovalev of ducking Adonis across multiple threads and that's just memory serving me. It's not like you to ever concede an argument, you simply regurgitate your point until people move on whereby you claim a win, like its an achievement.
Sergey Kovalev did duck Adonis Stevenson. It's not even up for debate, since it was a well publicised real world event corroborated by all parties concerned, even his own promoter concedes this fact.
Case in point.
I’m pulling the adult card. No more of these petty arguments. It’s the start of the new year. Some of your posts are quality and I find interesting. I’ll leave it on a compliment.

some decent dscusson from the thread. imo no problem.
to me errols very easy to enjoy. powerful and no nonsense and not overly analyzng thngs. not a huge gabber or overszed ego. he really plants his feet to dig in shots whch are nasty shots although on the other hand imo that can lead to him beng slightly slow of foot and maybe ploddng. brook had some success movng (4-3 for brook after 7 but then was all spence) but spence was too strong. but crawfords better than brook imo.
spence vs craw = possbly the best fght in the sport. i feel confdent spence would break down thurman (whose struggled with body shots) and be too good for garca and the porters etc.

Good comments. Agree with it all.

I'd love to see Spence turn ESPN's self-appointed P4P king, Terrence Crawford, into a skittish galloping pony.
Crawford won't stand still if he's wary of his opponent's power.
Alas, the fight will be a difficult one to make for all the usual reasons.
Why would he stand still and let himself take power shots from a known puncher? You're saying that as if it's a critisism! It's boxing.
That's true, and I appreciate smart boxers much more than wade-in sluggers.
But in this case I suspect that Crawford may find himself moving a lot and punching infrequently compared to Spence.
Crawford will dominate those whose punch he doesn't respect.
But with someone who can whack, like Spence, Crawford will very well stay on a bicycle too long, wary of Spence's combination of speed and power.
And Crawford, the naturally smaller man, has never encountered any type of threat like the stronger Spence would pose.

Both looked fit and ripped as fck. Couldn’t see much of a difference between them to be honest.

A class act who is willing to fight the best.
I know he's good, but I want to see him up against Thurman particularly, because whoever wins that is the best WW in the world.

I think Spence will beat Thurman and go on to be a top 3 P4Per for the rest of his career.
I think Crawford will give Errol more trouble than Thurman but see Spence edging out TC as well.

Errol looked really great tonight.... Won every round from Lamont PEDerson and made him quit after the 7th.

He won every round. Tremendous performance. Could not fault him. Lamont didn’t quit. He didn’t want it after 6 though. But he still didn’t quit. Rigo quit. There’s a difference. Would have gone out on his shield.

spence has perfect punch and body technique and punch mixture for a plant the feet grinder.hes really superb at that style of fighting.
i think he simply has too much strength and precision for anyone currently at 147. only crawford i think has a good chance
for me craw vs spence is just so good that i can barely even fathom it. unfortunetly im not sure if theres a good chance of it happening

Yea I was very impressed. Even with his feet planted he could still turn around Lamont. Looking forward to watching him for many more years. Great for boxing.

Absolutely agree. Tremendous for the sport. If Errol is marketed properly he has the skills to be the sweet science's next big star!!

Spence looked good last night I was impressed, he broke down and dismantled Peterson in stylish fashion with a mosaic of punches in seven rounds and never looked like losing.
Errol's steady pace seemed to catch Peterson off his guard, the constant need to be aware meant Lamont had little time to adjust or build on any minor successes.
At times Errol Spence's body attack was beautiful, there were accurately placed shots and well thought through moves timed to perfection which bought him not only momentum swing in the bout but respect as a craftsman boxer.
Spence didn't look tired or appeared to suffer from any kind of stamina problem, he looked in great shape focused hungry and confident ... there's little to flaw him on.
Good performance from Errol Spence.

Spence is the best and most entertaining American fighter to come along in quite a long time.
Unlike Mayweather, Dirrell and many others who used to just try to run out the clock for dull decision wins, Spence tries to stop his opponents within the distance.
And because he's genuinely talented, he doesn't need to resort to using shady officials and illegal tactics like Andre Ward.
But sadly, like Golovkin during the past few years, Spence is being avoided.

Crawford will definitely avoid him.
But we are catching it early that's a lot of pressure on Terence Crawford.

We will see Crawford vs Spence most likely after Arum kicks the bucket.

Lamont Peterson did his job. He was specifically chosen to lose and the outcome of the bout met my expectations, with Spence Jr. wearing down his opponent en route to scoring a stoppage during the middle rounds.
My prediction came to fruition, but I can’t boast, since the outcome was pretty much a foregone conclusion anyway!
Errol Spence Jr. must be utterly delighted about receiving $3.5m to face an opponent like Peterson. That's a really massive payday for a borderline mismatch!
The only concern I have, relates to Top Rank’s refusal to pay the sort of sums commanded by Al Haymon’s elite-level fighters, which means I don’t expect to see Spence Jr. given the opportunity during 2018 to share the ring with Terence Crawford.
This year we might see big welterweight bouts like Thurman-Porter, Thurman-Spence Jr, Crawford-Horn & Crawford-Pacquiao, but Spence Jr.-Crawford is definitely a no-go. It simply isn’t going to happen!

That' s the business of boxing.
I understood it and accepted it years ago.
In boxing, you can't always get what you want.
But there's always enough good stuff put together to make the sport worth watching.

On the flipside, Crawford has never encountered anyone who can do what Crawford can do. And no, Brook can't do what Crawford can do. And to an extent, Spence can be stationary and plodding which is how he gets his power off like GGG. Crawford probably won't stand in front of him.

No, Crawford has already said that he would fight Spence. Spence on the other hand said that Crawford has to prove himself at 147 first. Isn't that the same thing, others tell Spence?

I think that people will probably be disappointed to see Errol Spence Jr’s next outing against a mediocre opponent, such as the eventual winner of the Devon Alexander-Victor Ortiz bout (as all three combatants are with Al Haymon).
Everyone’s wanting ‘The Truth’ to share the rings with the likes of Crawford, Thurman, Porter & Garcia, but the reality is that Spence Jr. isn’t going to be too upset receiving more $3.5m paydays against second-tier opposition, instead of sharing the ring with the division’s biggest names.
