You do know that he'll likely be fighting Porter after his tuneup, most likely. Porter arguably already beat Thurman.
I that Thurman beat Porter easier than Brook did. Porter took some big shots and looked stunned a few times.
Porter has such an ugly style, I just cringe when I watch his fights. Its more of a wrestling match. He needs to fight Horn. At least it would be entertaining as far as the wrestling, headlocks, and head butting goes.

I better accompany Badhusker to the optician.
I saw Porter beating Brook by a point or 2.
I also saw Thurman beating Porter by at least 7-5. Harder shots and cleaner shots for the most part.
After the eye exam, I'll watch the fights again and see if anythings changed.

Are you serious? Porter/Brook was closer than people make it out now, but Brook won that fight clear. 2 rounds to Thurman over Porter isn't outrageous, though. It was a close fight, and if you break it down round-by-round, it's a fight that could've gone either way. I thought Porter won, though.

In my opinion, Porter looked more hurt in the Brook than in the Thurman fight; he was still going forward vs Keith in the last rds, while looking desperate and clueless vs Kell.
At the end of the fight vs the englishman, he knew he had been beaten.

Brook seemed more in control against Porter than Thurman did, and didn't have the difficulties Thurman had. Of course there was a lot of clinching but Kell didn't take much damage at all. I believe even Keith said Brooks performance was better. Either way, Spence is going to appreciate the fact Thurman is making him wait, because Spence will be more polished and better defensively by the time Thurman signs to fight. Errol's called out Keith for years, should have taken it and gone after Spence while he was still green.

I'm not so sure Thurman is "ducking". Don't get me wrong, he might genuinely prefer to not face him, but his injury layoff (requiring a tune-up), coupled with being obliged to perform two WBC back-to-back mandatories (against Porter and probably Garcia), kind of limit his options.
If the fight doesn't happen during the first half of 2019, then Thurman really is ducking.
On a side note, Bob Arum claims that he doesn't want Terence Crawford to face Spence Jr. either during 2018, so by everyone else's logic (apart from my own), does that mean Top Rank are doing the ducking on Bud's behalf?

Why did you only highlight part of my sentence, where the entirety of it is pretty much in line with the article you posted?
I watched a video less than two days ago where Bob Arum basically said he wanted to marinate the fight and delay it until 2019.
What were you trying to achieve with your post?
Did you even read the article?
"So by the end of the year or the beginning of next year - why wouldn't these two guys fight?"

wow ppl had porter beating brook? porter was a good display of ineffective agression and brook was the one landing all the clean shots. porters game was pretty much miss with a wild shot then fall in and hold and rabbit punch. it was a clear win and the 8-4 card was about right. dont see why the judges wouldve been biased towards the visiting brit challenger.
i had thurman beating porter too but he looked more uncomfortable and was taking more than brook. he looked hurt to the body. at no point vs brook was porter landing like he did vs thurman
spence beats them all though, except for maybe crawford

I watched the actual video, which was the source of this interview transcript, but it's clear you didn't read the entirety of my sentence, since you only highlighted part of it.
In terms of your other question in relation to why we may have to wait to see a bout between Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford, watch this fûckîng video and pay attention!

Thurman has been shooting down a matchup with Spence for several years.
Saying he won't face Spence in 2018 is old news.
Thurman is right when he said, on prior occasions, that the match needs to marinate for a while to gain some major sizzle.
It's a big time showdown, but it doesn't really step up the pulse of anyone except hardcore fans.
These guys are currently not fully on the radar of a casual boxing followers.
It will never be the modern welterweight equivalent of Leonard-Hearns or Leonard-Duran. A couple iconic bouts that transcended boxing.
But I think there's a lot of room for anticipation to grow...along with the fighters' paychecks.
By waiting 5 years, Mayweather and Pacquiao turned a proposed $50 million payday into a staggering $200 million one.
Put Spence-Thurman on hold for at least 18 months, maybe 2 years, and it becomes a box office colosus.
Hold it within a year and it disappoints financially
That's the business of boxing.
The truth!

if you look very closely between Thurman's legs, you'll see the shadows that foretell a huge, gaping chasm of a vagina
May be is just being a shrewd business man. Holding on to the titles as long as he can to milk them.

With Thurman coming off elbow surgery, i think that it's been ridiculous to criticize him for what he's saying. At least he's being honest and we'll never have to look back 5 years from now and come up with our own take as to why they didn't fight like we do with Pac and Floyd in their primes.
1. Thurman isn't healthy enough to take the fight. 2. The demand for the fight isn't even close to where it needs to be.

Someone that knows something, anything about Thurman's surgery, please explain..... He had arthroscopic surgery to remove calcium deposits, right? Since when does it take a year to recover from that? I have had that done on my knee. Could I have taken off work for a year instead of one day? Wow, I should have milked that one more.

Hardly noticed he's been out. PBC fighters only fight once a year anyway...
Maybe the injury was just a narrative?

Thurman knows Spence barely makes the welterweight limit and will eventually go up to 154 if he waits long enough.

I fully agree and I am more a fan of Spence than Thurman. I am a fan of both though.
