You want to know maybe the craziest part of the whole ordeal? It was Ali's highest paid fight until Larry Holmes in 1980. Ali got SIX MILLION DOLLARS for Inoki. Two years before he only got $2.5 million for George Foreman in Zaire.

Nope. Ali and Foreman had to split the $5 million dollars. 50/50.

Andre The Giant Let Out A 16-Second Fart That Brought Production Of 'The Princess Bride' To A Standstill

During the shoot, which Elwes said lasted for about a month-and-a-half, the cast and crew grew very close. "I can't remember a day without laughter," he said. [Director] Rob Reiner acted as the father of the group, hosting dinners for the cast and encouraging game nights and other hang outs. One indication that the group was going to jell came on the first day, Elwes said, when wrestler Andre the Giant, who played Fezzik in the movie, "let out a 16 second fart and brought production to a standstill." "It could be heard three counties away," Elwes said with a laugh. "Nobody said anything except Rob, who said 'Are you OK, Andre?' and André replied, 'I am now, boss.' He was comfortable enough to do that!"

To put into context the time period in question, clearly around 325 pounds.

I've read countless times over the decades that Ali earned $5.4 million vs Foreman. NO split of that figure. Foreman's purse was supposedly equal.

In Manila, Ali was guaranteed $4.5 million and ended up with about $6-$9 million from closed-circuit revenue.

I wonder if any of the European editors on BoxRec have any idea as to the gyms in France in the 1960s--- and can provide those listings here--- to try and solve this matter.

I did uncover that Verne Gagne did indeed manage and promote boxing in Minnesota along with wrestling, which shows he could have easily made Andre a pro boxer if he wanted--- as earlier posts in the thread shows.

But we need to clear up the claim Andre boxed for a year--- I'm assuming as an amateur--- when in France. If these gyms are still in existence, maybe they'd have a back log on that information.
