Finn wrote: 06 Feb 2018, 06:49 Personally I wouldn’t write bellew off at cruiser. Bellews best aspect has always been his go out all guns blazing and try and bang the other guy out style. IMO he has struggled when he had tried to change to outboxing his opponent. If he comes running out trying to go to war he has more than enough power, and I think people are forgetting he beat a good opponent for his world title, in a very exciting manner.
Very good? Makabu? He aint no Usyk
There’s no real yardstick over than usyk and makabu both beat the same guy.

ya makabu and usyk are real tough to split

not like makabu was badly hurt, pretty much even, and had a war with a guy usyk routinely stopped and took punches fine from

not like makabu could barely win an md vs a guy who won like 3 rounds vs huck right before usyk battered huck every round

not like makabu was badly hurt by mchuni, eric fields and kod in one by some absolute nobody, while usyk took shots fine from hard hitting world class briedis and wasnt hurt at all by mchunu like makabu was

not like we have eyes and can plainly see that usyks way better and bigger

jesus mate, i wont totally right bellew off, but to come out with that crap about makabu and usyk is just f@cking awful. seriously mate go watch round two of mchunu-makabu to see makabu all over the place for one

Having said all that it would be very different if Usyk stepped to when the cameras weren't there. He's a different animal, then, Tony. Frightening really. The thing with him is, when he goes he goes.

lillywhite14 wrote: 05 Feb 2018, 13:44 He’s timed it well to be fair. Had he stayed at cruiser and got mixed up in the super series, he’d have done well to even make a semin final, let alone the final!

Now he’s down to fight the winner of it all in some weird attempt to convince people that’s the real decider as to who is the cruiser king! All for knocking out a nobody for a vacant paper title and then defending it against David Haye’s mate.

Eddie, I’ll say it again, you are some kind of magician in the pomortion stakes! Incredible what he’s managed to do with Bellew. Fair fvcking play too :TU:

Tony has got to get up some mornings, look in the mirror and spend the best part of his day cracking up to himself!
  too true. He got smashed by the third best light heavy and now he’s the man at cruiser? Fair play to the WBSS guys, they put their career on the line against the cream. I’d love to see Gassiev outbox him before the KO.

Tony Bellew has done incredibly well for himself. He has EARNT enough money so he and his family can live comfortably ... well done to him.

But ... lets get real

He would get beaten by any of the WBSS Semi Finalists.

I dont blame him one bit for calling out Usyk .. thats boxing & the bulls**t that goes on in the sport ... but reality is Bellew would get badly beaten.

Having said all that ... money talks

Boxing fans everywhere should want Bellew to be exposed and humiliated against Haye and in any subsequent fight.

This will hopefully convince Sky and Adam Smith that Bellew isn't the pre eminent boxing expert of his generation and the viewers will thus be spared his almost constant "summarizing" through every bloody round of fights he's working on.

I’m not saying they’re a tough split I’m saying they only have one opponent in common and bellew smashed makabu up in 3 rounds. So it’s fair to say there’s a very good chance he would have dominated and made light work of mchunu as well.

I reckon big Tyson’s issues were brought on when he realised what danger he had put himself in with the Pricey/Bellew gay lover rant. Fury don’t want any part of Bellew on the cobbles :box:

I also hate it when a guy keeps talking about an opponent he ain't fighting next.

Focus on the Haye rematch Tony. Until Haye's got his ass kicked again forget about Usyk.

Bellew is Convinced That He Can Put Usyk To Sleep

Bellew stated: “Now I’ve got everything I dreamed of and more, all I’ve got left to do is to prove people wrong. If all is well and I get home safe on May 5, my intention is to fight the winner of WBSS [World Boxing Super Series], providing that is Oleksandr Usyk.”

“I’d always wanted to unify the cruiserweight division, the last person to do it was Evander Holyfield, Haye did it slightly, he faced Jean-Marc Mormeck for the WBC, then Enzo Maccarinelli for the WBO. Usyk will have them all, and once he’s dealt with [Murat] Gassiev – if he does, it’s a hard fight – I’m the biggest name for him.

“He’s a better boxer than me but I’m convinced I can chin him because he’s vulnerable and he’ll give me the chance. He’ll definitely outbox me and my face and hands will be f***** but if I hit that long string of p*** with my left hook he’s going to go down.”

How come Fat Tony only seems interested if Usyk wins?

Getting KTFO not as appealing as having a puncher's chance, but getting shut out over 12?

He has no intention of fighting Usyk. He's basically telling Usyk that all he has is the left hook. He knows Usyk would beat him easily and there will be no fight.
