Jerwin Ancajas got $1500 on the Horn-Pacquiao undercard as CHIEF SUPPORT.

When Bradley fought Diego Chavez the Cosmopolitan threw a huge 1.75 million dollars at Bradley. His opponent Chaves was on about 15 grand.

All fighters purses should be paid into Holding Account and then distributed afterwards - no fighter should be going unpaid or waiting ages for monies after putting it all on the line.

Good point, and some managers get that clause in. When Parker was signed to fight Hughie Fury, his manager got Fwank to put Parker's cut on escrow a few months before the fight.
I've no idea why

Very honest of you curtis. You're book is on my wish list. Once I've got through my next 2 it'll be the one after.

For the record I've had 3 pro fights.
Fight 1 - £1100
Fight 2 - £200
Fight 3 - £450

It ain't about the money. I can tell you that. After medicals and costs it's normally a minus deficit, fortunately there are sponsors who help out with some costs. I know away fighters will get £1100 for a 4 rounder. Then minus the deductions for manager and trainer. Which is 10% and 25%.

I recall a few years ago Matt macklin got a 68k purse for an EBU title fight on a Hatton promotions bill. It was talked about at the time as the highest ever purse for an EBU title fight.

Interesting info.

Were you the home fighter or opponent?

If the home fighter, were you required to sell a minimum value of tickets? And did you get a percentage of ticket sales on top of the purse you mention above?

just curious caz mate, why you go so much more for the first fight? what type of amateur career you had?

That's why I asked about ticket sales - maybe he didn't sell as many tickets for the second fight?

Some interesting (if depressing) info though - after all expenses etc. I bet that the average non-league footballer earns more than 90% of pro boxers.

I assume based on his response that he must have been the "away" fighter for his pro debut given that the amount he quotes for away fighters in 4 rounders is the same as he got for his pro debut.

Really interesting thread this and great honesty from CW. Fair play.

Such a shame to hear tales of boxers unable to sell tickets so packing it in.

all 3 have been in the home corner.

I sold 70 tickets for the first one which was in Nottingham and off the back of a lot of activity before going pro. the opponent and show expenses didn't require so much.

the second I sold 41 in newport. if it was Swansea or Notts I'd have done more.

And third one I sold 45 tickets off the back of lengthy spell of inactivity in Newark so involved some travel.

I had 20 amateur fights. won 12 or 13. won a east Midlands developmental title and Welsh class a. also had 18 unlicensed winning 16 with a few of those unlicensed belts.

Yeah, as others have already pointed out, the definitive answer is: there is no set rate.

The Managers 25% comes of the gross figure then do you take the trainers 10% off what is left.

Or is the trainers 10% took off the gross ?

How does the split work ?

On what platform can not very well supported, but very capable fighters perform, without a disadvantage?

Can the BBBoC become not for profit and reinvest in some for of small shows so these boys can fight for a ranking and actually have a chance?

Boxers get paid what they are worth.

Let's be honest, the overwhelming majority of small hall pro shows comprise of a local bloke 'beating' a paid loser in front of his mates. Nobody else is interested and after his mates have cottoned on to the racket most of them aren't interested for much longer either. It's not even sport.

I guess it depends on your profile and hype, I'm guessing the novices topping the bill at the 02 each got six figures

Not sure about Amateur boxing mate - there are plenty of people (from local club shows to internationals/Olympics) who would disagree!
