Only if Pac is dead at the weight, which is a possibility.
Otherwise I don't see Lomachenko bothering Pacquiao in the manner that the Filipino did with ODLH.
Once Pac was confident that he was able to handle whatever Oscar had left that night, he was the typical buzzsaw fighter that he had always been.
He simple overwhelmed the shell of De La Hoya.
Lomachenko is always a much more stylistic, almost cautious fighter who really doesn't display the power to trouble Pacquiao.
I don't believe Lomachenko ever really hurt the older, much smaller Rigo. He simply discouraged him.
Bigger, younger and stronger but he hesitated to truly open up and take it to Rigo.
Does it stand to reason that Lomachenko could hurt the bigger Pacquiao?
Lomachenko could outbox and frustrate Pacquiao. Pacquiao has always appeared vulnerable to fine boxers.
It might be a rather dull, uneventful night.
But I can in no way see him destroying Pacquiao the way Pacquiao destroyed Oscar.
Lomachenko is simply not that kind of fighter.
Yes, I agree. I dont see him being able to batter pacman; though he could embarrass him. I think it would indeed be a dull fight most likely.

No. Maybe if Pac cut to 130 or lower. DLH was so weight drained he couldn't even run a lap in the gym without stopping. Roach said he looked like a ghost, and didn't even protest the illegal IV. DLH got his ads handed to him by guys smaller than Manny in sparring.
Manny's ideal weight is 140. Only has to sweat off 2 or 3 lbs. That's not cutting any weight. He will be full strength against a guy used to fighting 130 pounders. Its not a 50-50 fight, but will be a very good fight.

Lomachenko has big ideas.
A fight with Manny Pacquiao would be major if it happened this year, they have a small window to make it and it could be done.

I tend to agree. I can't see Lomo battering Pacquaio, but I can see him totally dominating him.

In the fantasy land, I would like to see recent Loma against Pac in his prime (let us imagine 2009 version, defeating Hatton) at LWW, although I consider Loma to small for 140.
Right now, Pac has passed his prime, and (as i said several times before, here, on this forum) he should go to retirement, as soon as possible.
One RJJ is quite enough for boxing.

If the 2009 version of Pac had not refused to take random testing, it would be hard to tell what his prime was.

pac isnt close to rjj yet. i mean two fights ago he shutout vargas, who right before had kod now champ ali. the horn fight couldve gone to him too
and thats vs far far bigger men, which l8ma isnt

Great news!!
If Roach is right and Loma is willing to move to 140 to fight a washed-up, weight-drained Pacquiao, then Loma's got NO excuse for not remaining there and
fighting a legit 140-pounder in his prime named Mikey Garcia!!

manny is tiny at welter and usually weighs 143-145, i really dont think getting to 140 would be that draining
sounds already like excuses/discrediting

No it's not an excuse.
Most old guys who move down in weight at the end of their career are weight drained.
Ask De La Hoya. Ask Chambers. Ask Byrd.
Even Roy Jones, after just 1 fight at heavyweight, was never the same when he returned to the 175 lb. division.
Their bodies have adjusted to a certain weight. The loss leaves them weak as kittens even though they think they'll be stronger, faster and have no problem dealing with smaller fighters.
Manny's a welter. Not a junior welter.
He'll have nothing in the tank at 140. TR knows that but doesn't care because they're ready to move on from Pacquiao.
They're ready to anoint Lomachenko and/or Crawford as the Filipino's succesor, so they have no problem sacrificing a weakened Pacquiao.
And Roach. He knows better too. But he's goes along for the ride to reap future benefits from the TR gravey train.

i dont buy it all. manny is very short and is always way within the limit, as i said mainly between 143-145. that is not sometimes having bad struggles to make weight. he hasnt even been 147 for years now. hes tiny even compared to average sized welters
he could probably take a big dump and hit the sauna for an hour and make 140 without actually needing to lose anything else

btw mannys highest weight was 7 pounds above 140 and hes been even lighter for the last several years, showing no signs of adding pounds.
look at your examples. roy went from 210 to 175, bryd did around 215 to 175, and oscar was as much as 15 pounds higher than 145. oscar was a good sized jmw, whereas manny is tiny at welter

Please stop with the BS about Manny being weight drained for 140. There is no logical argument on your behalf. All he has to do is train, not cut weight. I said before, and stand by it that Pacquiao will give Loma a great fight. I think it will actually be a close fight and would not be surprised if Manny beat him.
