I meant 2oz not 20z
20z isn't a measurement I am aware of
Exactly!
Anyway, I thought Groves was trying to intimidate Eubank with a "welcome to the big leagues" attitude. Body language had him leaning into Jnr and Eubank was having to mildly lean back, just a fraction.

Well first i picked Eubank to pull out , then i did'nt hesitate to pick Groves, Now looking at the weigh in , i'm just hoping Groves has'nt overtrained , and leaves it in the gym , I'm not convinced you can rehydrate enough to gain strenght , once you have gone past a certain point , and Groves looks like he's gone past that point ,, Hope i'm wrong

'they guy i want to win looks good! the guy i want to lose looks drained!'
at least thats how it usually goes. just a game of trying to talk yourself into the result you want. they both looked fine. eubank wins imo but not because groves will be drained.
seriously, weigh in reactions are almost as bad as the amateur psychology of who psyched out who.
'omg the one guy looked away a nano second before the other! hes done for!

I agree with most of that - they're both top pros and came in looking good.,
Ring-walks, however - they ARE revealing..

Gonna have to go with George on this one. Eubank has it all to prove.

I was picking Eubank from the moment the fight was announced. I'm still picking Eubank.
There's a reason why it took Groves 4 chances and a vacant paper title before he ever won a "World Championship"

his first three chances were: froch, froch, jack (split decision for jack). all of those are very good fighters and vastly bigger and more proven at smw than eubank
eubanks best opponents: abrham (clowned by froch years before and clearly faded) and bjs (split for bjs)
i like eubank too but your logic is weak. it would mean far more if eubank had actually beaten someone on froch or jacks level. you cant say groves has lost to anyone eubank proved hes better or as good then, and you cant say eubank beat anyone who proved there better then groves.

I didn't say that Eubank has beaten anybody better necessarily, I just think that Eubank is the more gifted athlete of the two, and I see more natural talent in him. Groves has undoubtedly faced the superior opposition though so it's an interesting contest.
I think Eubank is better than a Badou Jack myself, but tomorrow will give us a better idea if I'm right about that or not.

yes fair enough, but your whole line about groves taking 4 trys for a title is nonsense without context on the opponents. froch and jack are far bigger then eubank and have done way more at smw to prove there worth. they both you can argue strongly were #1 in the division at some point, froch at least clearly was with ward gone. eubank hasnt fought guys even close to that level at smw and he lost to the top mw he fought.
i personally would not be surprised if eubank was also 0-3 in 3 fights vs them

Same as you can call summat 20lb instead of 1st 6lb, you can have 20oz or more as a measure. And it's obviously shorter to write than 1lb 4oz.

Oliver McCall about to burst in to tears, Jeff Lacy looking like a shy kid on the first day of school, the controlled burning rage in Lennox's eyes before Rahman II, the fear in Bruno's eyes freezing his shoulders coming out for Tyson II, the mad over-confidence of Anthony Farnell high-fiving the crowd before Takaloo....
just off the top of my head. - sure there are more - times when you can see in the ringwalk that the fight has already started and the odds are changing before your very eyes.

I know the vast majority see this as a close fight, but I honestly think it’ll be very one sided.
Eubank has never impressed me. I just dont rate him at top level.
I see Groves controlling him at the end of his jab as Eubank stalks without doing enough. Groves hits hard enough to drop the likes of Froch clean and I think he’ll dominate, bust Jnr up and most probably get him out of there in the last four rounds.
IMHO this will be the fight where the Eubank myth is put to bed.
Happy to take a bit of flack if I look like a fool come Sunday morning though

Agreed ... I wouldn’t be surprised to see Eubank unravel quite dramatically the first time Groves lands solidly.
Eubank has been matched very cynically since BJS; he hasn’t had any real testing fight, apart from a very old and unmotivated Abrahms; everyone else was put in front of him designed to fall in spectacular fashion.
Maybe Eubank has improved since BJS? But he hasn’t fought anybody since to demonstrate so.
Whilst not totally convinced by Groves - I think he’ll be too much for Eubank.

I have just listened to ricky hattons book abkut his vegas fights. He mentions the pacman fight and how he was exhausted by fight night.
Ian darke does a section where he could tell as soon as ricky appeared for his ring walk that something wasnt right.

Groves looked a little bit bigger. But Eubank Jr. is the real deal. I'd like to see him fight the ginger Mexican.

For me, I can't see what the fuss is about.... Eubank wins this as sure as night follows day, I can't see how others can't see it.
Groves looked done winning the title, that was his final throw of the dice when he threw the kitchen sink at Zeuge just before the ref jumped in.
If Zeuge made it out the round Groves was being stopped 100%.
Same with Cox.... He landed a peach of a body shot but was already beginning to blow in round 4!
Just look at the relief when you won.... You would think he beat GGG never mind a British level fighter who was moving up in weight.
He hasn't the engine to stay with Eubank at this point in his career.
And that should be clear to see for anyone with a pair of eyes. 8 or 9 rounds and someone put a fork in him he's done!

I take it you mean Chudinov not zeuge. Yeah groves wasn't having it all his way in that fight but still looked good when taking him out. Cox had very little success in what he was actually doing and groves looked in control throughout. If Eubank is the real deal then he stands a very good chance but know one really knows yet as his opposition has been so weak. Groves wins this for me
