Korobov is better than most of them. He easily outboxed Uzcategui who was beating Dirrell before dropping him after the bell.
If Matt Korobov was rated as a top-15 super-middleweight, he could have been eligible to enter the tournament.

However, he's never had a fully-fledged bout at 168lbs and he was still with Top Rank when the WBSS was initially announced.

Even if Korobov was eligible and applied for entry to compete in the tournament, the eight fighters that were eventually picked were either more accomplished than him or were on a better run of form.

With hindsight only, Korobov may have done better in the tournament than some of the fighters that tasted defeat, but I don't recall reading any outrage about his exclusion from the WBSS roster when it was initially announced.
