I dunno what the reason behind his extra weight is really.
Hatton knows how to shed fat and presumably applies what Kerry Kayes used to do with him in Gormans strength and conditioning sessions.
Perhaps it is just lack of discipline with diet.
Gorman hasn’t appeared to be lacking in fitness but strength to weight ratio could obviously be improved and he won’t reach the top tier in current condition.
Maybe it's a lack of motivation at this level. Gary Mason was in great shape when he stepped up to fight Lewis.

White heavyweights generally do tend to have a more flabby appearance....the issue with Gorman isn't a lack of effort in the gym, its a mixture of genetics and an over indulgence with food because he has the comfort of not having a weight limit to make.
If he ate a more calorie counted diet he'd lose some flab, but rather than the amount he eats I'd be more interested in what he's eating. If he's over indulging on quality nutrition, its not too bad really. But if he's stuffing his face on poor quality food then it'll be an issue. The old cliche you can't out train a bad diet is true.

I suppose he could get on the gear like all the ripped heavyweights? Anybody weighing over 235lbs with a six pack and training as a fighter is almost certainly using drugs or growth hormone or both.
Gorman is a kid, let him build his man’s strength naturally and see what happens later. If he flips the ‘ace card’ now, he can never unflip it.
Who knows, maybe Kerry has already given him that advice?

I reckon its diet. As said 17stone would be a better weight and hopefully add to his speed and mobility which are already strongpoints.

I don't think travellers always use the knowledge available or are a bit sceptical about some diets because they have always done well on their normal diet at home made by their mother the problem is the teenage metabolism slows down but aslong as he's fit doesn't matter what he looks like for me

ya but he was also fighting a guy who might be his best opponent, pretty normal for fights not to end so quickly vs your best opposition
The bloke got kayod in one next bout though.
Maybe the lighter weight left Gorman drained?
well akinlade also had beaten little and sokolowski and has only been stopped omce in his fights, and that was in the first so maybe he got caught cold. to me it just lookedlike akinlade was better then gormans other opponents

Lose 20lb of fat; gain 5lb of muscle; fight at 238.

You cant out train a bad diet is true if youre talking about aesthetics. He can still be well conditioned but have extra fat, who cares how he looks, if hes conditioned leave him to it

The guy is doing great so far and is still only a baby so no need to panic right now.
