You're just jealous because he looks rather fetching in a Sailors cap.

dare say that was the last fight I watched with my dad. Think it really put him off boxing. I'd have been 13 at the time and I reckon its a different beast watching your teenage son getting so into the pure violence.

The most vicious fight I can recall. Also one of the finest. The bravery, heart, will to prevail, and primal instincts both showed was incredible. Two of the most genuinely savage fighters clashed and neither were found wanting. A battle of both physical attributes and sheer will power. It went beyond boxing, more like two cavemen fighting.

Incredible fight, tragic ending.

It seems true that GM wanted to quit, but plenty of fighters have wanted to quit, have been persuaded not to, then gone on to win. Morales wanted to quit against McCullough famously. Is it the corner's job to stop them bailing?

Would love a cornerman's opinion on the night.
Is it true none of his team even went to hospital with him? Apparently the trainer made sure he got his dough then fukked off :o

From round one he was fighting to survive, even in the round mcClellan took the knee benn looked out on his feet, fightin in pure emotion. I rememeber watching this and as soon as been got knocked through the ropes my heart just started racing i was think "sh1t dont get knocked out in round 1" from then on i was thinkin its just a matter of time before gerald got him

I think its the trainers job to know his fighter and if he says he cant carry on its up to the trainer to know if he has more in the tank or if he is done. Dont know if you watch ufc but there was a womans fight about two weeks ago one tild her corner at the end of round 3 i think, that she was done the corner threw he back in and she got her nose shattered and visciously stopped now that is the corners fault.

He did.

He had the same look versus Barkley & he was not going to be denied, come what may.

No, but that sounds shocking.

It shows the importance of a good corner, and having the ability to know when the fighter is just having a crisis of confidence, and when they are done.
