Sounds like something I would do, I also totally concur regarding the kudos that Hopkins is finally getting, just cos he hasnt weight hopped. (Hagler didnt do it so why should hopkins, seems a bit of a present day Fad, unnecesarily moving through the weights, if you cant make the weight cos your body has aged and changed fair enough but to do it for the sake of it ha never sat that well with me personally.)
I cant see him going up to fight tarver or jones he aint big enough. Im not saying he couldnt win but it seems daft to hand the advantage to guys hwho are naturally much bigger men.
hopkins is a legend Im glad he got this fight to finally to get some of the credit he deserves.

The thing is, Hopkins is more a Jnr middle than he is a Super Middle. He's got a 28" waist.
Whether or not the jones fight comes off, Hpokins is IMO the best P4P, by a mile. I think he should get more credit for staying in the same division his whole career. Not may fighters these days can do that.
Watching Hopkins fight is similar to sleeping with a beautiful Woman. You never forget it.
Yes, he is a smallish middleweight, but that doesn't matter if you're technically superior. There is nobody in the super middleweight division who technically better, but there is a chance that Bernard wouldn't be able to gain their respect due to his lack of power. I would say Bernard would have to bulk up slightly to about 164 if he was going to move up to SM.
Of course, I agree, he doesn't need to move up, it's just that there aren't too many decent fights left for him at middle. Winky, Trinidad, Taylor, Sturm, that's about it. Not bad for 4 final defences now I think about it.
Actually. Sturm, Trinidad, Taylor, Winky would be a good little run before retirement, hits his 20, beats a comebacking Trinidad, takes on and beats the supposed future of the division in Taylor, and close out against Winky. Mind, I supposed Tito would be better as the last one as he's the biggest name.

It has to be TITO next.
He only wants big paycheques.
The fight has to be at 160 to count as a 20th defence.
Only TITO remains below 160 as a viable fight.
TITO next. And Hop wins again.
The only guy from 147-168 I give a chance of beating Hopkins - is Winky Wright.
He's the only cat smooth enough, talented enough, technically good enough to hold his own...it would be a purists fight, but WInky is the onyl one Igive a shot presently.
