Nah, Cuba's best have been winning medal after medal. Their best rarely turn pro

The entire landscape of 1970s HW boxing might have been different if Stevenson had turned pro. His style still looks uncannily modern all these decades later.

Good for him that he stuck to his principles, but an enormous missed opportunity for pro boxing.

Personally, Stevenson had been some kind of demi-god during my childhood. Nowadays, I still think/feel/believe he would have been the best pro HW champion since 1970. Fidel, Fidel :brick:

Still, I think that Rigo is capable to become the champion again, supposing he can make weight for SBW, I am not sure for 126, and he must not try at 130, ever............
If Usyk and Gassiev move up at HW, Dorticos will be among top 3 CWs, and if he is managed properly he might get one of the titles, even more (Briedis will be the main obstacle).
Unfortunately, it is too late for Ortiz. Should I mention Gamboa ?
Barrera and Barthelemy might be among the top 10 at their respective weight divisions, and I don't expect anything more....
Lara might be back on the top again, he will need a good luck, and fair promoters. However, he is better boxer than Ali (Sadam, of course)................
I don't know a lot about the Cuban new prospects, but I hope they are coming soon...............

Dorticos, Ortiz, Lara lost like men in close fights. Rigo embarrassed himself.
