No, the Irish thing means nothing to Canelo fans.
But Canelo fans will watch their man regardless of who the opponent is, so I think it is more about fighting a guy with a decent ranking, personality and a couple highlight reel KOs to his name.
The chance that he might encourage a few white people to buy tickets is unimportant.
