Well said. People forget lives are at stake. Definitely should be banned for a significant period . Regular testing is the only answer going forwards. At the elite level they can easily afford it.

And how many of those are escaping punishment?

From what I can tell, a few high-profile cases that are exceptions to the general rule are camouflaging the reality of the situation, meaning that people's perceptions are incorrect, because a lot of bans issued to anonymous fighters are either ignored by fight fans or the media doesn't make the effort to even report those instances.

It's becoming political. Just depends on the fighter. Mayweather and Canelo are too big to fail.

We don't know everything Canelo is taking. Clen is not a masking agent. It increases your strength and endurance.

Exactly. Who knows how much golovkin actually pocketed in the last fight. This is life changing money, not just for him but his family. Plus golovkin believes he can beat and maybe stop Canelo regardless of the drugs. He’s at the end of his career now unfortunately. This kind of pay days don’t just happen. Canelo is the lottery just like Floyd was.

GGG won't pull out of this fight because there is too much money involved in it, coupled with whatever terms of the contract he has to abide by, as well the cost of his training camp.

Tom Loeffler has just confirmed that GGG is definitely fighting on the 5th May, even if it's not against Canelo.

Korobov, Saunders, Murata, Andrade are names of potential opponents that spring to mind, but who knows who'll get picked?

K2 must already be searching for substitutes.

I agree with the two year ban but you can't punish him retrospectively as he never failed a test before his previous fights.

You can't do that, You would only be able to do that if old samples tested positive.

So what the NCAA does with violations. Rescind wins; championships, etc.

If the NSAC wants to cow tow to public sentiment, suspend Canelo for 3 months so this charade can finally be over.

That way the fight will be good to go in September.

You guys can laugh and grin all you like... Boxing is a totally corrupt sport and unfortunately you have to play by the perverted rules of the guys who are holding the cards... VADA never said Povetkin didn't pass his PED tests for Wilder... They used innuendo to imply a lie... They said he tested "positive" for one (1) test but DIDN'T say he passed the test... He had only 7% of the concentration of Meldonium that was needed to FAIL that test.

It takes at least 6 months for Meldonium to clear your body if you took it when is was perfectly legal (which it was for over 30 years. You can buy it online or over-the-counter, but for political reasons it was added to the PED list in 2016)... You could easily test clear one day and "positive" for 7% of the required level for a failed test the next day -- for the same reason you'll piss more clear one day and more yellow the next.. It doesn't take 5 months for an "investigation" to find that your level of hydration can effect the concentration. For dummies, that means you didn't drink as much water.

The WBC and VADA never said Povetkin failed his test.... They said they needed to investigate one of his tests... That took them 5 months (should have taken 3 days) and the Wilder fight was destroyed by that time... They finally admitted Povetkin passed all his tests and issued their "investigative report" which was full of gibberish and purposely evasive as possible about the fact he passed all his PED tests.. In effect they said, "We can't prove he cheated."

RIGHT!!! ... You can't prove somebody cheated if he didn't cheat.
