I'd be surprised if he did. Looks like the type of British fighter who will struggle at Euro level and beyond due to the lack of head movement etc. Would love to be proven wrong, but just seems too upright and dimensional for world level.
He reminds me of Sam Eggington in that regard, Can bang a bit, is exciting to watch but wont cut it past British/Commonwealth level as doesn't have the defence
I do like Ritson though, good fighter

Billy Hardy between losing 9th fight, and losing to Naseem Hamed. He went on a run of not losing to a british boxer for 13 years,

john had almosts vs danny williams and tyson fury
did stan ever beat anyone close to as good?
you say hed mop the floor with todays domestic hws, so would you say the same about all those guys who beat stan, including 2-1 ricky james and 9-7 winston allen,both who finished with losing records

He did clean up domestically, climbing off the floor to outscore dangerous Telford southpaw Cliff Gilpin to win the British welterweight title (which he says was his hardest ever fight) and outscoring Gilpin more clearly in a rematch. He outclassed Sylvester Mittee to win a Lonsdale Belt outright. Lloyd also beat solid domestic fighters like Kostas Petrou, Lloyd Hibbert and Sid Smith (whom he destroyed) prior to his title run.

Ricky James and Winston Allen were extremely dangerous fighters. They could take men out with one shot but they lacked 'big' management and couldn't win 'em all. You have to remember that boxers of yesterday had no other route to the top than the classic British and European title route. If you didn't win a British title, you were stuck in a boxing hinterland but most of those fighters were better than many of today's fake champions. Jimmy Flint, by way of an example, couldn't get past Pat Cowdell and his career petered out as a result, but Jimmy Flint was a monster, just as big Stan McDermott was a monster. Ricky James and Winston Allen were serious punchers. They would cause havoc today.

His fight with mittee was a big one for all 3 belts if I remember rightly

Michael Gomez had a few decent wins at domestic level, beating Gary Thornhill, Dean Pithie, Craig Doherty & Alex Arthur in British title fights (although the run was interspersed with losses, and was over a number of years)
