If that is Wilder's next fight, then Hearn is dropping the ball here. The four sanctioning bodies aren't going to be waiting around for six months for results to go the right way and THE BIG FIGHT can be made.
God knows that the four bodies are always pulling in different directions and it makes having an Undisputed Champion a very hard thing to manage. Moreso the Heavyweights, with the amount of ducking and diving we've seen over the past few years.
Stuarty wrote: ↑29 Mar 2018, 08:15It's a really ball bag move Wilder not showing up. He's cutting his nose of to spite his face. Fûck sake he's being flown over first class, being put in a nice hotel and paid by Sky! It's nuts if he doesn't show!
Agreed mate. But the proof is always in the pudding. With Wilder being a no-show, it proves he's not all that interested in unifying the division.

Yeah agree mate. Wilder should be forcing the issue and calling Hearns bluff and his handlers should be advising him as such!
As for Hearn, you need to strike while the iron is hot and he knows this more than anyone. As you say, as soon as the powers that be start pulling in different directions and ordering bullshit mandatories etc that just gives fast car more excuses to keep milking AJs balls dry!
There's no good reason for this fight not to be made next providing AJ does the business on Sat.

For me, Wilder pulling out speaks volumes about who is avoiding whom.
If AJ vs Wilder isn't made, I know who I'll be blaming.
Hearn has said it has to be Whyte then AJ. Hearn seems to be contradicting himself a bit this week as well. For me if AJ wins then it has to be Wilder next. Whyte can keep and fight an eliminator in the meantime. It's a really ball bag move Wilder not showing up. He's cutting his nose of to spite his face. Him showing up and making a show forces Hearn to make the AJ fight and puts the ball back in his court.
Fûck sake he's being flown over first class, being put in a nice hotel and paid by Sky! It's nuts if he doesn't show!
TBH honest I'm not sure either side want it as the next fight, Hearn keeps pushing for him to fight Whyte and if Wilder doesn't come over it doesn't look good on his part

Fair point mate. Lot of posturing and not much action going on!

If the fight doesn't happen it's on AJ.
Hearn is buying AJ time by involving Whyte in the discussons but it is ultimately AJs decision.
Wilder should be here to force Joshuas hand...

He should be there, it makes no sense at all for him to be hiding away. Him being there this weekend could add serious dollar onto his fight purse.
Who on earth is advising him.

It should happen next if Joshua wins. You have a window over the summer when they can make the fight at Wembley. Joshua is earning upwards of five times more fighting nobodies (in a relative sense) like Takam whilst Wilder is going hell for leather against dangerous opposition such as Ortiz and picking up a comparative pittance.
I don't understand, at all, why Hearn isn't screaming from the rooftops for this fight to be next. He should be saying it's the full unification, (which could break up any moment), it's not going to get any bigger, and there's a risk if you leave it long enough that one of them gets beat. If that happens, (say Whyte lands an upset against Wilder) then suddenly it's Joshua v Whyte II for every strap but that's a far smaller fight. (Objectively speaking - all of Joshua's fights are going to realistically be massive.)

I recall Wilder being ringside for a previous Joshua fight, may have been the Klitschko fight as I remember Bellew trying to wind him up.
I don’t think Wilder is dodging Joshua. He'd take the fight just for the payday even if he felt he wouldn't win. I think he feels he can win though. He clearly doesn't want to fight Whyte though to risk the Joshua pay day.

Hearn , repeatadly says AJ is his own man , and AJ makes his own discisions , Macracken said in a interview , that who and when AJ fights are discisions made by him and AJ .
He also said he thinks 2019 will be the time for it , and virtually said 2019 is the time and not before .. So based on that , theres the reason its not gonna happen , AJ does'nt want it ,,
Its Eddies job to keep the fight relevent , make it bigger , and push the barrow , whilst at the same time not making an offer he can't fill , because he knows it will not happen this year , Hence it makes sence to push hard for Whyte , they get a fight for Whyte , They make money , and most of all they get a feeler for how its gonna work out for AJ , After all the thing that makes Wilder dagerous for them is he's big , just as big has AJ , he can bang , just as hard has AJ , and he's UNPREDICTABLE ,, and being unpredictable , makes him dangerous
So all in all forget the talk , forget the hype and bullshit , Mckracken himself said they don't want it till 2019 , and he stated HIM and AJ make the discisions NOT HEARN

All depends who you believe doesn't it.
Wilder: “I told Sky Sports I’d be there under one circumstance. That if Joshua wins I will get in the ring with him and tell him to his face that I’d knock him out, and they told me that wouldn’t be a problem".
“I got a phone call a few days later from my manager and he told me I couldn’t do it because Joshua doesn’t want me in there".

he can still hype the fight and himself and get exposure on commentary. maybe even call bppl out for not letting him do a face to face. he can also say he used every opportunity to build it

The best possible way to hype Wilder-Joshua is for Wilder to call Joshua out in centre ring after the Parker fight, in front of millions.
It is a no-brainer. You just can't buy advertising like that.
Anyone who follows boxing knows that, and there is no good reason why it shouldn't happen.

As stated earlier in this thread, don't be surprised if it happens and it was planned that way.

ya, of course, but doing commentary and having his face on tv throughout the night would still be a way to build it and get big uk casual audiences more familar with wilder, and he can voice his opinion

Maybe AJ hurt his feelings when he ensured Wilder couldn't enter the ring...lol...on the face of it, yes, at LEAST he could go and do commentary. Its been frightfully frustrating waiting for this fight to play out and all the banter between Hearn and whomever is really f'n annoying. I'm hoping for the WWE type entry to the fight for Wilder...would be better than doing the commentary.

Wilder-Joshua will happen. Since Wilder took out Ortiz and should AJ take out Parker, there's no danger men left in the division apart from Povetkin and The Return of The Champ (which still looks some way off). If AJ-Povetkin and Wilder-Whyte both happen in the interim I don't see the problem. I'd like to see both.
That gives time for Fury to get back to his "brilliant best" and then after that it will be ages before the new blood (Dubois, Hrgovic, Joyce, Gorman, Yoka, CW super series winner) have fought it out to become relevant. AJ and Wilder being put on hold keeps the heavyweight division alive in some strange way.

Wilder wants to do his talking in the ring. Not too much to ask for. Ring call-outs are as almost as old as boxing itself.
They won't let him. So he isn't coming.

I believe wilder here,if he cant get in the ring then whats the point? Hearn just wants whyte to get at wilder and ruffle his feathers when really wilder just wants to fight joshua but joshua is terrified of wilder cause wilder will put him to sleep within 5 rounds. Wake up people joshua is scared stiff of wilder
