But not Ali.... Ali was a butterball for Young -- and for many fights where he ran a soft schedule -- such as Jean Pierre Coopman.... Rickard Dunn.... Alfredo Evangelista..... Rudi Lubbers.... Blubber Mathis.... Chuck Wepner..... and Leon Stinks
Norton said in his autobiography that he never lifted weights and that it was all due to good genetics.
His genetics were good as far as size, definition, and athleticism... But I know for a fact he lifted weights because I knew guys he worked out with and what gyms he used... He probably didn't need to lift... You can get extremely buffed doing plyometric pushups, chin-ups, obliques, back extensions, sit-ups, rings, bars, lunges, jumps, etc., you don't need weights.

When guys brag that they never lifted weights and their physique is all natrual, it means they weren't fanatical about lifting weights and didn't do it for Body Building... If you do it for speed, power, and general athleticism, don't pose in the mirror to see how beautiful you are, and don't spend hours a day lifting and measuring body parts, It doesn't count :oo

Zass was a pioneer in isometrics... He would try to do things that were seemingly impossible and he wouldn't give up until he could do them -- even if it took him 3 or 4 years to build his strength to that degree.

Maurice "Thin Man" Blocker would seem to fit the bill.....absolutely sky-scrapered Lloyd Honeyghan at the Royal Albert Hall and it was incredible to see a guy that tall do welterweight without looking ill.

Nothing on him apart from sinew, skin and his skeleton....and he fought ok as well.

He was a good fighter. Like a better version of Maurice Hooker.
