klitoris wrote: 12 Apr 2018, 16:15 The infatuation with Fury is excrutiating to watch. The guy hasn't fought for three years and his only big win is a close point decision win against a declining Klitschko in a fight where he was the bigger man and ran around for most of the fight.
And yet there are people out there in Britain who are probably ready to pay PPV money to see him fight bums like Briggs.
You gotta give it to Tyson though, the man is a marketing genius when it comes to knowing what a casual brit boxing fan wants.
I could give a sh#t about his boxing ability. I just think the guy is the most hilarious crazy man I've seen in the sport for a long time and it shakes things up!
Until he gets in the ring and runs all night... people pay to see excitement and KOs. Klitschko was boring at times, but at least knocked people out. Fury doesn’t have much power for his size and his style is really boring to the point where I’d rather watch Wlad.

Well, there's a reason Wilder ran away scared for a 20 year old Hughie Fury, to fight Duhaupas (who lost against Pianeta) instead and actually called Duhaupas the best opponent he has ever had..
Your posts are fvcking sh1t. They either make no sense or are just complete drivel.

The truth hurts doesn't it? I call it karma, he created his own history and I don't forget how hard he ruined the entire sport. At some point they didn't even want to broadcast it any more, the mandatory Wilder fought his mandatory fight wasn't even worth uploading on YouTube, without the UK, heavyweight boxing was probably bankrupt by now. Klitschko was probably still the man to beat.

So you don't think that nearly 3 years of ring inactivity coupled with drug and alcohol abuse will have any effect on what Fury brings to the table?

Exactly

We’re not talking a few pints and a one off sniff of Charlie either : Fury was absolutely caning it just from what we’ve seen publically: god knows how much more he was doing behind closed doors

I wouldn’t want to see Tyson Fury face the likes of Deontay Wilder or Anthony Joshua any earlier than October 2019.

I don’t want Fury’s comeback to resemble Ricky Hatton’s, where his physique looks the part but his fitness levels being much lower than they would normally be.
I agree, there's no need to enter the top level immediately after such a long time off.
That would be true ordinarily, but Fury has been running off at the lips about the likes of Parker & Joshua being bums, so if he believes that, he should be targeting those guys straight from the off.

After all hiss jibber jabber, what would the point in him knocking over a couple of car crash dummies?

If he's going to keep quiet & just ease his way back in then fair enough, but I bet he doesn't do that.

Fury needs to put up or shut up.

He need to promote his comeback anyway. So that's normal. Unpleasant words in opponents' addresses aren't a purpose obviously, those are means. He won't get much attention with attacking journeymen with his speeches. So why doesn't he call out big names, while he's regaining his shape on lower class fighters?

Wilder an easy tune up? Ok fine, its your opinion. Opinions are never wrong, but they can make you look like a stupid troll. I think the shoe fits.
Wilder ran away from H Fury? That is a fornicating lie. Fury wanted a full 8 week training camp, and at the time he had to sign he only would have had 7.5 weeks. Fury turned down the fight.

Do some of you blokes actually expect Fury to zipper his mouth and pretend to be a gentleman?

He's been jabbering this way for nearly 10 years.

That's his MO. Let him call big names out and refer to everyone as a bum.

Fury's still going to take 3 or 4 gimmee fights before he climbs into ring with any of these big name bums.

And he'll keep on blithering and blithering nonstop until the day someone knocks him into the English Channel.

I don't mind him either.

At least he brings color to the sport.

I've never been sold on him as a terrific heavyweight. Above average skills, above average power, but nothing that blows you away.

His size certainly helps since he usually uses it well.

I have no idea how he'll fare after more than 2 1/2 years of inactivity coupled with drug, alcohol and major emotional issues.

His early fights shouldn't be too taxing, but whether Fury can step back up to the top level is a big question.

But as long as he keeps his bloody mouth motoring, we won't be devoid of entertainment.

Because Wilder refused to give him those 3 or 4 days extra? And knowing that he had to show up all the way on the other side of the ocean, alone, as a barely 20yo against "the champion of the world"? He would have been the youngest heavyweight world champion in the history of the sport lol! But nah, Wilder refused to give him and extra "4 days of training" and now his fans claim Hughie ducked him XD.

Rumours it could be Kevin Johnson he fights

Not a huge shock if true, was always going to be an opponent of that level.

Nothing official just an alleged slip up by Warren.... read into it what you will

I can't see them wanting to play back Johnson again; granted it was 6 years ago but I'd guess they'd want someone new.

Nah...someone he can toy with; get work done. Then see how he reacts in the ring, then re-assess next steps.

It's not a bad choice for a comeback fight by any means, it's just not very appealing from a selling tickets point of view since it's already happened and it wasn't close. There are also cheaper options that will allow the same.

But Johnson would no doubt love this opportunity. After getting stopped by Milas he lost his chance to fight Michael Grant as the A side in his re-invented German career. I'm sure he'd love a chance to get a payday against Tyson.

As I opined earlier, I don't believe that the opponent matters in the first comeback fight.

Tickets will sell out in hours even if Fury is fighting a cruiserweight.

Fury is THE story here. Not the fight. The curious will turn out in droves.

The second time around, the fans will be a bit more discerning and demand a touch of quality competition before parting with their quid.

But on June 9---if it actually happens---Fury could fight me and the UK would be transfixed.
