Re: Tyson Fury comeback on TV?
This whole situation has become a bit of a farce. They've just said that Flanagan Hooker on June the 9th is on BT Sport, surely that means the main event will be too?

Re: Tyson Fury comeback on TV?
allegedly have confirmed they will NOT show Tyson Fury’s comeback on June 9th, appears at this stage to be exclusive to BT Sport. Selby vs. Warrington, Saunders vs. Murray and Conlan all on allegedly though.
Re: Tyson Fury comeback on TV?
Wow, that seems a bit of a shock as I assumed it would be shown on both. Possibly the end of allegedly with it all going on to bt sports?Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑05 May 2018, 08:02 allegedly have confirmed they will NOT show Tyson Fury’s comeback on June 9th, appears at this stage to be exclusive to BT Sport. Can see the station folding before the end of the year. Be a shame but the signs aren't good.

Serious? If that’s true, I’m cancelling BN on general principle after the Selby fight.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑05 May 2018, 08:02 allegedly have confirmed they will NOT show Tyson Fury’s comeback on June 9th, appears at this stage to be exclusive to BT Sport. They haven't shown many of those this year.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑05 May 2018, 09:32BN shows a lot more than just live boxing, it would be a shame.. no point just showing the small hall shows.
Re: Tyson Fury comeback on TV?
I can't for the life of me work out the business sense behind this unless BN is basically finished. There will be plenty of people in the bracket of having Sky and BN but not BT. Despite there being a fair bit of confusion over what meant what for BN subscribers when the BT deal was made the basic idea was there would be X shows across both platforms and more shows on BN, given it's a dedicated boxing channel. In basic terms get some casual interest in domestic FW fighters like Saunders and Frampton on BT and your diehard who wants to watch Lomachenko fights at 4am can do so on BN.
If you're now getting exclusive content on BT I don't see how both channels can co-exist. If you're the sort of person who wants to watch every fight going and BT will now have some exclusively, then you're looking at just shy of a grand for both BT and BN in an eighteen month period. And that's on the proviso that you're going to get the fights you want to see on these, because let's face reality here - at the minute Joshua Fury is a Sky Box Office fight and nothing in the figures BT have shown has suggested anything else.

Re: Tyson Fury comeback on TV?
I'm hoping as a BN subscriber that the idea behind this Fury thing is to entice fans into getting BT Sports - so be promoting Fury and Football they might sign up to BT Sports - where I believe allegedly is then thrown in for "free". I'm hoping that they feel the demographic for Fury is more likely to want to sign up say £15 a month to watch footie as opposed to £15 a month to watch boxing.dirk2686 wrote: ↑07 May 2018, 03:05 I can't for the life of me work out the business sense behind this unless BN is basically finished. But being honest - the international cards shown on BN were to entice boxing fans to stump up, so Warren could get good cards for his shows.... with the backing of BT now there anyway - does Warren really need to get the international cards?
Re: Tyson Fury comeback on TV?
Whilst Fury is a name his fight is four weeks this Saturday and he doesn't have an opponent. How many people are realistically going to sign up for BT Sport to the tune of forty quid a month to watch what is realistically going to be a mismatch featuring a guy who's never really sold in the first place?
For BN to be viable it needs to be doing the international shows because there just isn't enough content coming from the FW stable to justify a channel. Flanagan hasn't fought in more than a year and is largely unknown. Saunders barely gets anyone watching him and has a history of inactivity. What else is getting the masses tuning in? Nicola Adams and Liam Smith?
Whilst it's a great situation with Warrington, Selby and Frampton that will only herald a few fights. For me it needs the Golovkin/Canelo/Lomachenko fights.

This will definitely be on tv! Absolutely no doubt about that!astradamus wrote: ↑07 May 2018, 17:16 I remember Tyson Fury saying that all of his fights in all of his carreer have been on television, even his debut and such, it would be a shame if he can't continue to say that any more.
Re: Tyson Fury comeback on TV?
Yes, but the whole BN model was built around FW's stable.... the business model centres around FW - pay the £12 so FW can get big fights to the UK and offer overseas fighters a decent wage etc -Warren also making money on the tickets etc.dirk2686 wrote: ↑07 May 2018, 04:22 Whilst Fury is a name his fight is four weeks this Saturday and he doesn't have an opponent. The last minute (Cheap) US fights were to entice boxing fans to pay the £12, a chicken and egg scenario.
Now though with a backer, does Warren need those to pay the £12

Out of principle i’d cancel allegedly if they put stuff solely on BT.

Yeah - I'm not sure I'd carry on. I've been a subscriber since the Fury/Chisora & Eubank Jr/BJS CopperBox double headliner. There's got to be a limit, I pay for Sky, Bocxknation, and RacingUK - I don't think I can stomach lumping out for BT Sport on top of that.Stuarty wrote: ↑08 May 2018, 18:10Same mate.PredatorHayds wrote: ↑08 May 2018, 18:01 Out of principle i’d cancel allegedly if they put stuff solely on BT.

I've got rid of Sky ages ago. Got BT in. Have BT and BN. I stream Sky now or go to a mates if there's something I can't miss.cmdenny wrote: ↑09 May 2018, 07:32Yeah - I'm not sure I'd carry on. At this rate, he won't be on any channel at all.
His alleged comeback is a month away & there is still no opponent announced.
Is he going to turn up at the Manchester Arena & shadow box for 12 rounds?

Re: Tyson Fury comeback on TV?
Why does his comeback have to be such a farce?
What is going on? Who is he fighting and what channel is it on?
How can it be promoted properly under these circumstances?
I'm a big nut hugger, but this has been garbage so far.

Re: Tyson Fury comeback on TV?
Whilst the lack of opponent is pretty pathetic I thought it had been confirmed that he's on BT Sport?

1 month away. Still no opponent?
Is he actually fighting or not?
