If Team wilder can prove the funds.
All of these other bullshit excuses like if we're happy with venue. Or we're happy with the date. Screw all of the excuses. This is the largest guaranteed purse in history.

Haymon offered 100 million to buy Golden Boy Promotions once. Spent 38 million to buy airtime for a few shows on network tv. He is well backed. Revenue from the Mayweather-McGregor fight staged less than 12 months ago would cover it.

What do u mean “when he was the promoter “?
His promotion company would be a separate entity to him as a fighter. The legal financial structure of the fight would be the same as it would be if any other promoter was promoting it .
Mayweather promotions is a business separate to Floyd Mayweather the fighter
It was widely reported his guaranteed purse was $100m

Great news! Just what boxing needs.
Easily the biggest fight in the sport, but now we will see just how big.
At the least its making a splash in the media.

Absolutely genius PR move by Team Wilder.
They almost certainly can't guarantee that sort of cash, but just in case there's a chance Joshua does accept it, they've also given no details whatsoever about the build-up, the venue, the TV deal and then said "24 hours, take it or leave it"
It's like me going up to someone who's house is for sale and saying "I'll give you the asking price. I can't prove I have the money but you've got 24 hours to accept. Take it or leave it."

This just looks like posturing from Wilders camp. Where is the money coming from? AJs apparently guaranteed 50m? So what if the fight only makes say 50m? Then team AJ walk away with the whole pot win or lose and team Wilder don't get a bean? Seems strange to me.

You’re absolutely right; Wilder’s “offer” is great for publicity, intentionally or otherwise.
Eddie Hearn hasn’t seen a contract; so the so-called “guarantee” is meaningless if it doesn’t say so in a legally-binding agreement.
Matchroom hasn’t received an explanation as to how AJ’s purse payments will be made, its funding hasn’t been disclosed either and the so-called “offer” may include stipulations that Team Joshua might object to, such as including a clause compelling Anthony Joshua to extend his contract with Showtime.
All we know is this… Joshua and Hearn have only received a high-level “offer” from Team Wilder via an email that didn't detail any of the specifics.
It surprises me that so many morons choose to support this ploy, by stupidly claiming that
“AJ’s bluff has been called. He has to take this offer; otherwise he’s a duck”, when they clearly know fûck all about the deal itself.
These hideously imbecilic people seem to forget that boxers often talk pure bûllshît for the sake of hype and marketing purposes.
Wilder has even used the fact that he often talks bûllshît (the legal term for it is “rhetorical hyperbole”) in a lawsuit as his excuse to make himself immune from being held accountable for the slanderous nature of his own words, so we don’t yet know if this so-called “offer” is another one of those situations.

He can't front that kind of money.
Haymon's probably found a new hedgefund to play with.
I think the offer is legit, Floyd was cashing over 32m for the likes of Guerrero and Berto. Wilder vs AJ is an easy sell; biggest Heavyweight clash since Tyson-Lewis. Wilder-AJ could do better numbers than Canelo-Golovkin. I guess it's hard to say as 1 has the mexican factor but the other has the HW factor.

in the usa it wont come close to canelo vs ggg, canelo is far bigger then either and ggg is around the same in the us as wilder and much bigger then josh
wilder does like 800-1m on showtime and aj like 300k, they arent suddenly gonna do like 1.5m on ppv in the us
but overall we could see it do similar

I'm with EO on this one. I refuse to get overly excited about this until Joshua's team actually understand the details of the contract. There could be all kinds of unattractive factors, and the 24 hour time frame another ploy to make this fight not happen.
It's not a lot of time to analyse a $50m contract. If they were serious, they would give them at least a week to go through it with their lawyers and discuss changes of details, rather than a take it leave it choice.

I'm sure that Wilder didn't just type Hearn an email after a couple Natty Ice's and a buzz. He's obviously got some support from Al and his buddies. Why else would he come up with an offer like this two days before a scheduled meeting with Hearn. It has to be legit.
I think it's genius because I think that Wilder has a huge problem with fighting AJ in England. With this deal, the fight can be of his choosing and in friendlier confines. I can't ever see Wilder agreeing to fight AJ in front of 100 thousand Brits. I just don't see it. This is a great way to sway the venue in Wilder's favor.

I would almost say that both sides are scripting offers back and forth, to build the fight. Behind close doors the fight is being made in the UK - it points to that, but the constant offers back and forth (genuine or not) just create more intrigue and interest into the fight.
