Nope. Magdaleno went over and embraced Dogboe and his father. During the interview, both were extremely gracious with Dogboe apologizing for comments building up to the fight. Was so refreshing compared to Broner's antics.

I was joshing, of course.

I always suspect that most of these over the top, pre-fight smack talk remarks are nothing more than attention-grabbing hype.

And that both fighters are well aware of it beforehand and probably even help each other write the verbal script.

A rematch is in order to see if Magdaleno fought foolishly and dispensed with his game plan early, or if Dogboe is the real deal and is simply too rough and strong.
Rematch, where? Ghana?

Dogboe literally ripped the WBO belt away from Magdaleno. Insane climax.
Well why not?

Didn't Danny Lopez journey all the way to Ghana to rip the WBC belt away from David Kotey?

Why shouldn't Magdaleno be afforded the opportunity to turn the same trick 42 years later?

Trash-talk is just part of the game (in an increasing number of sports) and it's kept in perspective when someone apologizes for it post-fight like Dogboe did!!

Jennings certainly didn't help his credibility as a heavyweight contender.

He did enough to win comfortably but looked flat and unthreatening the entire fight.

Diego De La Hoya (20-0, 9 KO's) is the current #1 contender for Dogboe's newly gained WBO championship belt.

Any thoughts on that potential match up?

The kid is a nice and effective boxer. I used to think he was just hype based on his relationship to Oscar.

But he can fight and is gutsy. He took apart respected Randy Caballero on the Canelo-Golovkin undercard.

Does he have the punch to keep Dogboe honest?

DLH isn't a hard banger and he'll have to use a lot of lateral movement to avoid the new champion.

It would be a huge step up in class for DLH and I'm not certain that he's ready.

But I don't think that he would be blown away.

Up first though, Diego has a NABF title fight against hard punching Jose Salgado in June.

It's another good test and will give a better indication whether he's in Dogboe's class.
