The 1st knockdown punch looked like one of those top of the head brain rattlers to me.

I thought Froch looked good: no messing around, and got the job done in a clinical fashion.

Ok his hands are too low, but he looks like he's got the punch, skills and grit to go a long way. I think he's been matched well, on the whole. Had around 20 rounds in his previous two fights, so he hasn't had things his own way either - which is a lesson he needed to learn early.

I could see him beating Bayer, for instance, right now ( cue chorus of boos ).

Also, I know what he's saying in that Sun interview about other, over-rated sportsmen. It must really annoy boxers when they read about football players and golfers being called "brave"

i agree MW I think Froch is decent enough only had 14 fights and to take care of Hague like that was impressive.

Cant say I agre wwith his most talented sportsman in britain appeal.

say that as and when you ewin your world title.

Though he did villify his comments slightly in post bout i/view.

It seems as though Froch is doing his best to get noticed and sell a few more tickets which is fair enough, but he doesn't have to act like a knob to achieve this!

There are plenty of good fighters who get big crowds in without mouthing off all the time about how good they are.

As for that defence of his, surely it's only a matter of time......

He looked a good finisher, though I agree that he does wide open at
times but I think he is doing the right thing by going the tradtional route. It
will be intresting to see what happens to him at Euro level as there a few decent super middles in Europe. He's a bit of turn off but I'll prefer him to be over confident rather then lacking in confidence. Self belief is important to any sportsman.

Earlier in the week, Froch actually said, its gonna be a tough fight against a two time world champion.

What domestic fights would you have him take? Barny's name is in their as is Dodsons. How dose everyone see the Dodson fight going because to me that is not as open and shut as Froch et al would have you believe.

I wonder what Jeff Lacy thinks about Froch's claims...

Froch and Lacy seem to be destin to meet at some point although it must be said that Lacy has mixed in slightly better company of late, froch has the advantage of being able to come up through the europian system which I think will do him some good because it will mean that he will have fights which improve more of his game.

What do you think a world title challenge at the end of next year in the nottingham arena, froch and Lacy for the vacant something or other although that is assuming that Lacy comes through a difficult test with Syd Vanderpool next month.

Lacy would find Froch very easy to hit. In fact he couldnt miss him. Lacy by KO.

Very decent display by Froch with a well executed finish.

Bit of a mismatch but let's be fair, until he moves on from the British title (and he's only just won it) I can't see him being tested.

If we can take Froch's word for it and he continues to go the traditional route (and surely we should all be thankful for that?) then the European Title and the competition that comes with that territory should tell us more about Carl's future.
