i was at that fight, Haye was badly hurt, got up then had to take a knee shortly after. the stoppage was a wee bit hasty too as i recall.

No you're right, I was. Was also at his fights with Carl Thompson, Ruiz, and one other of his pre title heavyweight bouts..

Always thought he wasn't sturdy enough to really compete at heavyweight, I was sort of right, I think his performance against Wlad was so negative because he knew that even a flush stiff jab would probably have finished him.

It was as hairy as a gorilla's bollocks mate.

When we got in the taxi to go the fight, and we told the driver the venue, he looked at us like we were mad, turns out it was way out in the paris projects, and that Mormeck's following were mainly north African and west African guys from said projects - really very scary looking crowd - loads of mars bars all over the gaff.

We were literally the only English people there, and the atmosphere in the stadium was pretty lively to say the least.

It was obviously a proper boxing crowd though, because when Haye finally won, the crowd started to clap and then cheered him - I felt my sphincter gradually unpucker like a slowly simmering squid ring, as it became clear we probably wouldn't be murdered on the way out of the arena.

Aye, you missed out. Was a good night. Slightly surreal, was like being in Adwick Leisure centre with a bunch of French blokes going allez all night. To be fair they were sporting when he lost. I got to lock eyes with Monshipour and nod and literally bumped into M'Baye in the toilets.

My biggest gripe was getting a drink, found a half decent bar a walk from the stadium but he laughed when we asked if he was open after the fight and there were no drinks in the venue. The hotel bar was empty when we got back although the whole PSG team seemed to be staying there. Chatting to the barman, he said Mormeck was a bit of a tit and nobody seemed to be that upset that he'd lost.

What on earth does it mean that 'loads of mars bars (were) all over the gaff'?

So they will fight in a weight under the cruiser limit? This fight never gonna happen. By the way, for me Stevenson will lost against Badou Jack.
