He had tough fight against former cruiser in Kiladze who had already lost to Kalenga.
He gets way too much respect for beating Szpilka who is only half step better than Mike Mollo.
Nothing that warrants any kind of high ranking so far.
The main problem is that he seems to eat punches like he eats everything else.... Way too much![]()

When Jaime Munguia was in contention to fight GGG.. a lot on here where furious and on other forums. He wasn't being underrated, but since his win over Ali, all I'm seeing is Hurd vs. Munguia.. he's getting a bit overrated slowly.. all i'm saying is, let's calm down a little bit. He's likely going to have a voluntary next before he fights Liam Smith.. let's wait and see.

Listen pal, I know all this. The first step in my recovery is admitting I overrate him, now go fetch the nurse!Heretic wrote: ↑15 May 2018, 02:24 Kownacki seems to appear in quite many top HW lists now days.

I just don't think hes going too far...

..overrated?
- both top HWs..astronomical amount of money doesn't quite correspond/match their actual skill sets..
- Usyk as the future dominator of the HW division..
..underrated?
- Basically every time the top guy losses, he gets so much criticism you start wondering how he got there in the first place..

In all fairness, dollars earned are based on dollars generated. Love Uzyk: just used him as future HW troublemaker. Your comment about underrated is a very interesting point indeed. Sometimes a loss is just a loss.greg wrote: ↑15 May 2018, 15:06 ..overrated?

i believe george foreman gets overrated,
cesar chavez gets underrated. might not
qualify for "most", but i realised that over
the years.
Re: The most overrated/underrated fighters on this forum (2018) ?
I think same names will appear on most lists, older names like Calzaghe definitely on both, the speed to slap down praise of Brook suggests he would be on both, Tyson Fury, Joshua and Wilder the same, I'd say Kovalev moved into that level as well. Alvarez and Golovkin are more difficult. I personally think Alverez's profile and rating slightly outranks his performance and Golovkin's standing is under where his performances deserve. But I don't think either would be really over or under rated. They are two of the top guys and split opinions so they will attract differences but I don't think many really go over the top on rating them.

Honestly, as good as he is, I think GGG is overrated.
Underrated, possibly Daniel Jacobs, and yes Linares

Warrington overrated as we will see tonight
Re: The most overrated/underrated fighters on this forum (2018) ?
There are very few under rated fighters on this board. People tend to go in the opposite direction. There are also fighters who divide opinion but that tends to be more partisan and emotive rather than over or under rating as such.
A lot of fighters are over rated for a while especially on the way up before they are tested properly but that's understandable as people always want to get excited about the next big thing.
I've nothing against Golovkin and I think he is a good champion but he's definitely been over rated. Kovalev was the same to a degree. Alverez's reputation seems more linked to his ability to make lots of money rather than his ability. The way Mayweather handled him with ease 5 or 6 years ago exposed him as fairly limited.
David Haye was massively over rated at heavyweight. Joshua is clearly over rated by many.

im not really sure on the kovalev picks. seems to me hes too easily lumped in with fellow soviet ko puncher ggg.
for a long time there was a pretty common opinion that he was basically a crude slugger who really lacked boxing skill at any high level. and actually espn had an 'expert' poll for the hopkins fight and hopkins was favoured! there was a sizable majority of fans too saying hed be schooled. and ppl seem to forget that kov was actually underdog in both ward fights. and there were from what i saw on forums and 'experts' more picks of ward totally schooling kov then of kov taking him apart or anything like that. it ended up being extremely competitive.
aside from ward hes clearly beaten everyone he faced barring an earlier opponent he kod easily in a rematch. and i actually think he proved to be a better boxer then originally thought, at least skill wise. he had 0 problems with hop, was outboxing ward in several rounds from outside, and was extremely competitive and couldve got the decision the first time. he turned out to be a sharp boxer puncher who couldve easily gotten a win vs a p4p elite, hall of famer like ward. imo thats actually better then the most popular opinion of how hed fare vs a masterful ward.
for quite a while hed actually gotten better wins then ggg imo but wasnt looked at as the same beast. hes always been cosnidered by many to be flawed. now he loses super competively to an atg, master boxer who most expected to beat him, and a lot of ppl are suggesting hes done and finished.

selby is the comfy favourite. i only see a very small amount actually going warrington. the most common 'generous' opinion to war is more like, 'if selby comes with that low work rate, warrignton could give him issues'
warrington actually doesnt seem that rated at all to me in relation to what hes done. ppl have gone on constantly how hes super vulnerable and protected and carefully matched and only getting his opportunities because of his leeds support,
Re: The most overrated/underrated fighters on this forum (2018) ?
Obvs, Brook/Crolla/Campbell/Whyte all overrated but wouldn’t mind being a pound behind any of them.
Re: The most overrated/underrated fighters on this forum (2018) ?
IMO many people here underrate Canelo Alvarez because they did not like him.

I think the most overrated is kownacki. I don't know why anyone rates him at all past being in entertaining fights. Historically it's vitali by a Nordic mile.

Whyte is very overrated
Re: The most overrated/underrated fighters on this forum (2018) ?
I was calling Whyte very overrated before Parker, but now I'd say he's a bit overrated, though he's a legit contender, cause he now has a very good streak.
