Saunders has grown on me, he's a good fighter, but i dont think he could live with Canelo. He would obviously look to outbox Canelo and box to a points win, but i think he would get worn down and knocked out.

I dont see Saunders taking this fight tbh.

You don’t see Saunders taking the biggest payday of his career? He would take the fight all day long, the reason Saunders has not spoke about a Canelo fight is because Golden Boy have always said they’re not interested in the Saunders fight, which is why Billy Joe rarely mentions Canelo and concentrates on Golovkin.

I actually think Saunders would get a decision against Canelo with fair judging,

Saunders has always extremely confident he would win as well.

The problem is Saunders can't dominate the fight enough to get a decision in Vegas.

Absolutely no chance what so ever this fight happens in the UK.

It will be Sept 15th in Vegas if it's happens.

would be interesting fight

compare ggg-lemiuex to ggg-canelo and you can see a huge difference in quality between canelo and lem (same goes for jacobs and lem). would be interesting how saunders matches up to an elite mw and not merely a guy in the lower top ten

What's the latest on this? Are we expecting BJS to get his shot?

I agree, he'd be pretty much selling the belt

Nothing will come out until after the Murray fight in a few weeks.

BJS is near certain to win so Frank will currently be having discussions with Goldenboy.

Nothing with be announced until mid July at the latest.

BJS just needs to come through the Murray fight injury free.

Wonder what the testing will be for this, considering they’re both clearly on the Gear? I’ll be rooting for Saunders to deliver a humiliating loss as at least he sometimes gives a funny interview.

Excuse my ignorance but how is Saunders clearly on the gear?

I don't know much about the drug taking side of things so what am I looking for?

He was chubby, lazy, blew up incredibly large between fights, never looked particular cut and was generally considered to be small enough to make light middle, if only he had the discipline. Then he had his habit of fading towards the ends of fights and looked like dogshit in a fight with some guy I can't even remember in a bout hut in Paisley.

Fast foward a year and the bloke's joined the ingles gym, which has a somewhat dodgy reputation of various fighters getting popped, he's shredded, looks like he's gained a bit of muscle mass and is suddenly fighting better than ever. It's speculation but to be honest I think all signs are there, just like Canelo. It's just people wilfully ignore them.

I think they could get 50k out for a Canelo bout.
Not a chance in hell. His fight against Murray is selling fewer tickets than the Okolie fight at the same venue and he's been reduced to fighting for a world title in a literal leisure centre. He didn't even get 50k people watching him on tv last time he fought.
Sounds like you have an agenda...

reduced to fighting for a world title in a literal leisure centre. = opponent getting rejected a visa missing the scheduled fight and having to go on a mtk bill just so he didn't get stripped

didn't even get 50k people watching him on tv last time = fighting in canada

selling fewer tickets than the Okolie fight = 2 guys not from London fighting at the O2 vs 2 local guys fighting at the O2

It's merely an illustration of why Saunders is not getting a stadium fight any time soon.

Bollox, complete and utter fckiing bollox. Nothing about him looks juiced. He is cut and wasn't before? It is called actually following a diet and nutrition plan and shedding some bodyfat.

As for fighting better and having more stamina - same deal. If he has dieted better, cut weight and bodyfat better and created a better energy balance, he would also be fitter.

Fully agree. He’s moved himself away from family and distractions to give the game a proper go. Hence looking better and having more stamina.

Here's a snippet from the link above:

"I asked Eric Gomez, the president of Golden Boy what the testing deal is for this Saturday clash.

“VADA for Lemieux,” Gomez said. “The UK Anti-Doping organization for Saunders.” That is the outfit which employs Blood Collection Offiers to get samples, which need to comply with the International Standards for Testing and Investigatons.

From what I know, with my not unlimited knowledge of this whole specialized area, VADA..

http://vada-testing.org

…is more severe, more strict, than the UKAD…

https://www.ukad.org.uk/our-organisatio ... g-control/

…panel is.

For instance, VADA does “IRMS” on every collection to identify synthetic testosterone use and national anti doping organizations don’t do that routinely. IRMS is a test to pick up TRT/synthetic testosterone use, even if an athlete has a normal testosterone to epitestosterone ratio. It is costly but super effective.

Saunders could also have chosen to do the VADA testing, Gomez told me, but opted not to.
As always, this issue needs to be pushed by media, and fans who feel that competition should be clean need to follow these stories, and ask that strict testing be the norm for fighters, who could use their illegal edge to a deadly level."

Again, a few years ago you've got a lazy inactive champion openly swerving GGG and struggling to fill halls fighting nobodies and looking nothing particularly special, then suddenly he's changed to a camp which has known history of drug cheats and he's fit as a butcher's dog and looking like a serious threat to the big two, all the while swerving VADA testing.

Proper training and nutrition. Fair enough,

No way Saunders tops a U.K Stadium show.

The major reason being he isn't with Sky sports who are really the only ones with the PR machine in the U.K. to make a massive stadium show sell, with their 24/7 promotion and massive subscriber base.

Alternatively, he doesn't have a cult following from a large town ala Josh Warrington/Leeds. And he isn't particularly exciting neither.

canelo is an a-side diva whose making like 20m+ a fight and is firmly having all his fights in the usa these days, wheres hes tapped into the big ass mex american market, i lol at the thought of him being drawn to the uk to fight saunders, a guy whose not a big draw at all and is almost sure to use a boring approach

if they fight it will be in north america and canelo will win. and then who knows what bjs will do when hes not champ any more

I can see where you would see to be led to think that and of course there is a possibility that he has taken something but I feel it is just good nutrition, good training and some long needed dedication. He does not look like he has gained any muscle (and if he had, there would probably be big issues making weight as the tissue would weigh more).

To me, he just looks like he has bothered to diet better and trained a bit harder. I see it all the time with tons of guys, even myself tbh
