Murray looked a bit daft there.
He wouldn’t have tried that with BJS - his kid would have smacked him in the bollox !
he did. The push looked like he put his full force into it.

Looked fake. Something was said between them before,
sounds like, "Hey, let's sell the fight".. then the push looked a but much.
Looked like murray called him a pr1ck then pushed him, probably to take the attention of his mop head haha. Does my head in all that pushin lark, their gonna trade blows tomorrow so sort the beef then

If Murray displays the aggression he showed here ( or post-fight vs Rosardo) then he could do the job in impressive style, helping to sell a possible BJS match in the autumn (should Saunders not get a bigger fight).
Alas, he probably won't, his narky side doesn't often show itself during actual rounds.

I’ve not seen Kamanga but his record suggests he’s solid to a certain level, does anyone know if this fight is actually a tougher fight than the Leather fight for Ohara, given Glenn Foot should have come away with the win against him arguably?
This bill is pretty shocking but I see some intrigue still, this Sek could be a good opponent for Yarde given the fact he’s not been stopped, he’s tall and he’s a southpaw.
I’m also in the minority that Little is a decent step up for Dubois, but don’t have faith in DDD showing much improvement in movement, speed, jab and combinations.
I’ve seen him before. I think he gives Ohara a good fight.
I favour Ohara but the odds for the Congolese is 10-1. I’d only make him a 3/1 outsider.
Got to be honest even though I think Ohara will win I’ve put a fair bit down as 10/1 is cracking value.
Just seeing this today, cracking result and performance from Ohara, he’s clearly got decent power.

He deserves another shot.
Murray's treatment on the forums is disgusting.

The title makes him the mandatory challenger, doesn’t it? Or at the very least one of two fighters in a final eliminator...

Why does he deserve another shot ?

Murray v O'Sullivan would be fun. Wouldn't be surprised if Murray chucked it though.

He's the 3rd highest ranked middleweight in the world without a world title by BoxRec.
He's only ever lost clearly once at middleweight and that was in giving Golovkin one of his hardest fights.
I'm not saying he deserves a shot more than anyone else in the division, but he's up there.

He didn't give GGG one of his hardest fights,he just took more punishment than most before getting stopped.

It wasn't a tough fight,Murray was never going to win that in a million years,it just went longer than most.

Longest
Take a look at the scorecards when the fight was stopped,GGG wasn't hurt, wasn't punished, wasn't outboxed so how did Murray give him a hard fight ?

So true. He lost every round. He isn’t even his 3rd toughest. At the time if got hyped a little because he nearly took GGG the distance.

Kassim Ouma and Kell Brook did. They didn't go as many rounds as Murray did, but they landed more clean blows, and gave Golovkin more problems on their way to getting stopped.
Murray was just kinda there, and took a beating longer than most guys did, but I don't recall him having Golovkin in trouble at any point or even winning a round.
He'd be one of his 10 toughest fights I guess just by the standard of having lasted as many rounds as he did, but other than that there wasn't anything particularly noteworthy about his performance against Golovkin.

Murray won rounds and landed cleanly.
If they had equal power then Murray probably would have won.

Technical superiority is part of why Golovkin hits so much harder. Power is partially just a natural thing, but the technique with which you deliver your shots has a part in it as well. Murray's focus is on defense 1st, and that's why he's never been, and never will be much of a hitter.
I do recall him landing his share of shots, but I don't think he would've won even if he had more power because Golovkin is just flat out better than him. More skilled as well as more powerful.
I'd like to see Murray fight David Lemieux to illustrate my point. I don't doubt he could outbox Lemieux, but I'd guarantee you he couldn't shut him out like GGG did.
I doubt he could equal Saunders' performance either, but I would expect he could probably win a narrow decision over him.
I'd actually like to see that fight to find out, and to test my theory.

That maybe so, but to say Murray didn't give Golovkin any trouble isn't true.
He gave him far more trouble than most opponents, especially up to that point.

He survived, and showed better defense than a lot of his other opponents I'll give you that much. There was never any point in the fight that the result was ever in doubt.
For a brief instant in the early going it would've seemed as if the upset was possible due to how good Kell Brook was doing, I never had that feeling watching the Murray fight personally, but if you'd wanna call Murray his 5th or 6th toughest fight it's probably fair.
He'd have to be Top 10 just off of the amount of rounds he went honestly.

There's certainly an argument for Brook doing better than Murray, due to Brook's superior offence early on.
However, since Brook ultimately got destroyed within 5 rounds, and was getting significantly hurt even as early as the first round; I think that Murray gave him a tougher fight.

I'd just about guarantee you GGG was feeling the effects of the fight more the next few days after fighting Brook than he was after fighting Murray.
But it's a pointless argument really. We'll just agree to disagree.
